April 18, 200521 yr What you envision is a FlightScenery that butts some Megascenery. That would be fine if FlightScenery folks planned to play a second fiddle to Megascenery. But clearly they are not - considering relatively small area they offer they want to make it as attractive choice as possible to stand-alone buyers rather then serve on the perifery of another scenery. They clearly shoot for some attractive areas that have a good mix of small-medium-large airports within small acreage. I agree with them. Also the weakest point in all these sceneries is the boundary area - for you it may be no problem flying directly from one to another scenery but for some such transition ruins part of exoerience - I frankly rather fly between two 'similarly' looking sceneries and actually generic FS scenery is not that bad in my books - and blends well with what FlightScenery has to offer.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
April 19, 200521 yr Couple of questions, does anyone know what the size of the photo area is? I've already got Justin's mesh for that area so thats not a real benifit but, what is the "18 meter mesh, the best FS can display".I thought FS could go as low as 5 meter mesh, the fsg mesh for Hawaii is 9 meter if I remember right.I don't know,I'll have to see some simmers screenshots before I plunk down $40.00 for what looks like a pretty small area. Misty Fjords was priced in about this range also, don't know if the area covered was about the same in size or not. Seems to me that at a price point of around $20-25 US these authors would do much better on sales. I don't think they would only sell twice as many meaning the same gross as a $40.00 package,I think they would sell ten times as much.David
April 19, 200521 yr Hi David, it's been a while since we communicated! :-waveI,too, was sceptical of spending close to $40 for this scenery, but after looking at some screenshots and the demo video, I went ahead and bought it tonight. All I can say is WOW!, they have really redefined how 3rd-party scenery should be done! Well worth the money. BTW byuing it at Simflight you pay 29.99 Euros which at the present exchange rate is a little over $38. BTW. I also own Misty Fjords, flying Bill Lyons and Lou's planes there is really something, and now I will have another more "urban" area to fly in. I know you've talked before about high blood pressure and maybe a ticker that isn't 100%,but glad to see your alive and kicking and still with us...Heh he.Yeah, its nice to see some airports and scenery that isn't just from the usual 15 or 20 big ones. In fact OK city and the surrounding area would make for a great package. Will Rogers,Wiley Post,Norman,Tinker AFB,small airports like Sundance,OK City downtown. There's going to be a MegaCity for Dallas, maybe the suggestion could be made for OK City. The preview shots for Dallas are unbelievable,I've flown around that area so much in the last 11 years that I pretty much know it without a sectional.Good to talk to you.DavidDFW MegaCityhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/wic...llasFtWorth.jpg
