Look at the price, too :-boom I can say, though, that his freeware St. Malo scenery is second to none, so hopefully his payware will be as good.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

I agree, the preview video looked outstanding as far as scenery. And for the environmental effects, wow, I don't think FS has seen anything like this yet. Their website appears to be down or something as I can acces the site, but nothing comes up. However, this will be one product I'm sure to get.Jeff

Yeah, the website is taking a beating - there have been many of us PVD locals eagerly awaiting this. And amazingly, it is world class. There are some screenies in the screenshot forum here...http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=195709&page=and you can also see a few in the developers forums...http://www.flightscenery.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=3I think the popularity took the developer a little bit by surprise. That, and I think the only way to purchase it right now is an overseas (eg: European) server, so the download is a little slow. WORTH the time and money, however.

If you enjoy scenery, do not miss this one! I promise you have never seen airport and surrounding areas as detailed and life like as this. The most amazing part to me is that the frame rates are better than the default KSEA on my machine. Getting 25-30 FPS on the ground with AI 100% (Ultimate Traffic) and weather and terrain maxed.

I just bought this but cannot download the product. I find it somewhat annoying that these glitches happen with an addon that, after all, costs quite a bit of money. What's funny, though, is that the credit card charge mechanism ALWAYS works. I'm hoping the developer is burning the midnight oil to fix this problem. ricardo

Ricardo,Problem is that the servers have been pounded way worse than expected since release this afternoon. They are busting their butts trying to keep things going. The credit card server is a totally different setup. Be patient. It will be worth the wait.

Looks absolutley amazing! I just can't see too many computers being able to render all that without taking a show-stopping hit. Maybe with a default plane and clear skies.

Was finally able to download it, installed it and took two short flights from KSFZ and KOQU to Teterboro, New York. Looks decent, but I am not terribly impressed at this point. True, little impact on framerates, but I didn't see quite what the big deal is. Maybe some textures didn't get installed but the taxiways looked awfully bland and generic to me. Also, both KSFZ and KOQU were completely devoid of any traffic -maybe some traffic files didn't get installed. ricardo

$40, jebus, at this rate I am going to be priced out of buying FS addons.Looks nice, but $40, blimey, just take a look at the freeware La Palma and St Malo/Dinard sceneries, they are both top quality and freeware..Dan.

Yep it's heavy but...- detail the best seen so far in a scenery- no impact on frame rates as with other less detailed stuff...- looks very realistic from a graphical point of view.Just check out the movies and screenshots via the support forum :-)

I loaded the freeware "La Palma". It brought my machine to its knees. Terrible frame rate hit. I have been running locked between 30 and 40 FPS ( I change it based on where I am flying), Ultimate Traffic at 100%, Flight Environment, PMDG 737NG, however for the La Palma test flights I was using an IFDG A320 with PSS Panel, and then tried it in the default King Air 350. I was getting rates in the mid teens. It looked wonderful, but was crippling my machine, and I have a pretty healthy set up. Turned the clouds off and got around 18/19. BTW, running everything maxed, with UT, 100% traffic, FE, FsSFX, GPS Out, FScene textures, FSGenisis Land Class and Mesh, real weather via a second machine running FSMeteo 7 and AISmooth on the second machine, with clouds, at the default KORD airport, I am getting high 20s. I don't think it was my machine having a problem. At Lapalma I had most of this disabled. There were many problems with the install of La Palma and in fairness to author, who I thought truly broke some ground on that software, I will try to reinstall it and test again. I know some have had good results.I did not mean to get us off on La Palma, but I did not think that the comparison was fair. Some freeware works great and others don't. Some Payware works fast, others don't. ( I love the Simflyers KPHL demo, and I would have to to buy it, because it gets around 11 FPS.) If these guys have pulled off the frame rate people are claiming, then I will be one happy camper later this afternoon. IF someone can provide that level of detail and get the frame rates, I will gladly buy it. Lastly I will say, based on the textures at Rhode Island I have seen, comparing the freewares you mention to this package is comparing apples and oranges. However, I do appreciate your valid point of view on quality freeware being available.DMAMD 64 3400+ and Kauman Cooling FanASUS MB with 1600/800 FSB1 gig OCZ PC3200 RAMNvidia 6900 with 256mb DDR RamPromise controller and 7200 RPM Disk for the OS DiskSATA RAID 0 for Flight Sim 9ANTEC quiet caseSecond MachineAMD XP2100+ and Kauman Cooling FanASUS MB with 800 FSB1 gig Kingston PC3100 RamNvidia 5900 Ultra with 256 DDR RAMSeparate 7200RPM OS Hard Disk and Flight Sim Applications Disk

On the flip side on that, I get excellent FPS, 30 odd, at the addon La Palma scenery, pretty good I thought for the detail contained. All I am saying is that at $40, they are putting the "casual" simmer, when I say casual I mean the one who doesnt fly around RI that ofen, off. Were they to reduce the price, I would bet that there sales would increase dramitically as they are attracting the people who wouldnt normally fly around RI, this increase would surely offset the decrease in price, but hey, what the heck do I know. The price of addons is steadily rising, but I do think that $40 is getting a bit ridiculous for a scenery addon, heck the LDS767 is cheaper, and I bet the development time was a great deal more than RI.Keep on buying at these inflated prices, and the prices will keep on going up boys and girls.Dan.

this scenery looks really good in sommer and winter, I havent tried the other seasons yet but I get a solid 24.8fps locked at 25, I dont set mine to unlimited as that causes weird studders anywhere I fly, but this scenery looks great and is smooth as silk.La Palma installed easy, and I get solid 24.8fps there too, smooth as silk as well, even with AI at 100%. My only complaint is the ugly water the creator put in there, I emailed him and asked to get rid of it but since he is spanish I guess he didnt understand my requests so I gave up.
