November 10, 201411 yr Could someone please tell me what the major noticeable differences between v2 and v2.1? It does seem to look better but I can exactly put my finger on what though. Highly Immersive Michael !!!! simply amazing and answering the above question: Here's what's changed in version 2.1 as per the email i received from X aviation: What's New / Changed: Cloud reflections now supported in low water reflection settings Cloud shadows animate smoothly now Small efficiency improvements (eliminated unnecessary callbacks) Added reset button to config Reduced memory footprint Use new dataref in 10.30 to disable default clouds (saves VRAM) Improved cloud visibility distance computation Clouds get darker with coverage Smoother cloud lighting Less cloud popping as camera moves Faster weather update handling Cloud shadows no longer interfere with other shadows Cloud shadows applied more consistently in HDR Anvil clouds now fade out with distance like other clouds do Cumulus clouds no longer allowed to intersect ground level X-Plane11 GTX1070 8GB Vram - i7 4770K cpu @3.5GHz Quad core - 16GB RAM
November 10, 201411 yr +1 Do you mind to second that? Amazing how good XPX is these days and great video, also amazing screenshots in first post! Sascha Sascha Rieger | EVO Developer What is EVO • How to get Evo 2016 • FS9 Evolution Forum
November 11, 201411 yr I believe you can get them, but that's only from actually running out of physical ram installed in your pc, not from running out of VAS. (i.e. If you have 20 gig of ram, you'll only get an oom if you use all 20 gig of it!) Even then, if you have a paging file set up the sim would keep on running, although at a snail's pace. This is a sim that's limited only by your actual computer hardware rather than by legacy coding. I'm still undecided on SkyMaxx. In some screen shots the clouds look better than default, but in others they kind of look like untextured blobs, lacking definition. -

November 11, 201411 yr Trust me, SkyMaxx is a game changer both in FPS and looks. Would not fly X Plane without it. November 12, 201411 yr SMP is very good, but then FS9 clouds are better than the embarrassment in XP10! Full disclosure - I use all flights sims and each are strong and weak etc etc... Back to SMP... Guys, if you have preferred SMP setup (the config is a bit daunting) pls post here would be great. Here's mine -

Actually I noticed that when I adjust the contrast, the clouds looks nicer and of course in addition to tuning the details and the draw distance and ticking high resolution puffs inside sky max pro settings plus also I use extreme high resolution for textures inside xp 10. So the answer is clouds look nicer with an adjusted high settings in xp10 and in sky max pro plus contrast and general colour a adjustment via max fx or other tools for colors adjustment. November 12, 201411 yr Lens flare is a thing that only a camera eye could catch , you can't see this in humane eyes , it's nice for taking pictures only.
