November 26, 201411 yr I just recently put all my FSX on My E drive and can't find The FSX Config. When I was using the C Drive it was easy, users, roaming, etc.
November 26, 201411 yr It should still be on c:... where it was. My FSX install is on an E drive with the cfg on C. Mike Mike Dryden
November 26, 201411 yr I use a desktop search engine called 'Everything' from Voidtools. It searches your desktop super quick & should help you. It is an essential PC tool to have. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...

November 26, 201411 yr Yes, it doesn't make any difference where you install FSX, it will always be in your hidden User file as shown by Dave above. November 26, 201411 yr Author fshobby, I ran it but couldn't find it. I saw a few listed withn FSX , but they weren't config file. Does it go under a different name ?
November 26, 201411 yr Administrators Don't know if this will apply to your system, but go to Control Panel/Folder Options/View and make sure you have "show Hidden Files and Folders" and make sure that Hide Extensions for Known File Types is unchecked. November 26, 201411 yr No. It goes by FSX.cfg. There might be a FSX.txt in the folder if you had a crash recently or FSX shutdown abnormally. The user folder will be located on the same drive as you installed Windows. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! November 26, 201411 yr Hi jet, You've probably located FSX.cfg by now but there's a program called FlusiFix06 that does a lot of handy things. When the program is started there's a tab that says "CFG-Editor" and by clicking it all of the cfg files are shown beneath it. Clicking on any of these shows the complete path to the file in a box in the lower right of the screen along with the contents in the upper right. Very handy. Google should locate it easily. Jim F.
November 26, 201411 yr Try charliearon's suggestion to unhide extensions so you can see whether there's a file with the .cfg extension. It's possible some application took over the .cfg extension and gave that file type a different name. Barry Friedman
November 27, 201411 yr Not tried that 'everything' program yet? Run it & type in FSX.exe. It will find it in seconds. Far quicker than it has taken me time to type this. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
November 27, 201411 yr Author I've tried Dave , Charlies and FS Hobbys advice and nothing yet. I even went into the C Drive. I did notice a lot of FSX things in the C Drive. Can I safely delete those items ? I know the FSX config. is in there somewhere.
November 27, 201411 yr I know the FSX config. is in there somewhere. That may be your problem. If you have file extensions and 'show hidden files' enabled, you need to look for fsx.cfg NOT fsx.config Jay
