Where Is Your RealAir T-Duke V2 Now?!

Recommended Posts

Had to ditch in the ocean.  Appears we had an engine failure.  Went into a spin on final approach, had to feather both engines just to straighten her out.  Was doing an FSCaptain flight from TNCM to MDBH.

Still hanging out on the playa in the Black Rock desert, I'm hooked on the area, I want to spend a week there in real life, lol.

Been working on this do-it-yourself photoreal, so far I've got 9 "tiles" down in the sim each covering about 18 nm in each direction at LOD14. A "tile" is an arbritrary size I arrived at myself in an attempt to strike a balance between my lousy internet connection and imagery source managability. Each source is a .bmp roughly 18,500px square weighing in at about 1.3 Gb but since SBUilderX downloads imagery in the form of .jpgs it only requires a transfer of about 70mb per tile from the map server.

I had a selective color preset already saved from another project that worked pretty well on this imagery so I've just applied the same preset to each tile which takes about 15 seconds in PhotoShop and color adjustments are done. After messing around for a few days getting a system down I can add new tiles as fast as I can download them. I might try adding a winter variation as well but so far I just want to forget winter even exists so I've been flying in July and August where at least I don't have to deal with it in the sim too, lol.

Some shots of the do-it-yourself PR, click for full size:

Hope it's OK to post a couple of the Skyhawk? "Where is my T Duke?" - well, same place as the Skyhawk? Sorry I had to, the Skyhawk beats the Duke for low and slow photoreal quality control flights. Besides, it's got RealAir flight dynamics?

Wish I found this thread earlier. What a beautiful collection of shots. I'm taking the Duke across the Northern Atlantic, island hopping to Europe. Been waiting for weather to calm in order to depart Keflavik. Finally got semi-decent weather for flying. Woohoo!

Wonderful shots Hawk !  Of course your Duke looks great, but I really love your wing view shots.   Care to elaborate on your sky, cloud textures, and weather program ???

I'm using REX ESS + OD with KW1 theme that i created. You can dload the theme from REX shared (inside REX ESS) by searching for KW1 or HAWKDS (theme ID 5112)

This theme was used with SHADE K_and_W_1 preset created by Uhu_Fledermaus, which includes ENB settings (but I don't use ENB, im a DX10 user). If you have SHADE, you can

get the preset from here: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/9776-shade-preset-k-and-w-1/

I also use the "Simple Sun Mod" available from the avsim library here:http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=182622

BlueSky Scenery.

And finally, I use the Zinertek HD airports, which is now compatible with all three FSX programs (FSX/PD/SE)

The proper install order is as follows: Instal REX textures, Install Shade preset, install Sun Mod. Install HD Aiport. Any other way, and REX will over write Shade/Airports, and mess up the sun mod.

The download from Uhu Fledrmaus includes the REX theme, but the latest REX programs and updates no longer allow easy cut and paste for the theme, so I re-created it as a shared theme. Super easy install through shared!

Day Three, we make it to Phoenix : KWDG-BGD-OTO-SJN-KGEU
