According to the Times, an Austrailan court fined an abusive airline drunk passenger £5,300.  It  also ordered him to pay  Virgin Austalia another £26,000 for the cost of extra fuel and for putting up other passengers in a hotel when the flight had to be diverted.

 

Good for the court!

I agree!  If you caused a serious and expensive problem, you should pay for your actions.

Don't know  about  What Times think, we in Australia are in Dollars  and not in pounds

Here is another similar case this week that cost a passenger $15k on an Air Canada Flight that had to land in Halifax to let her off....This includes a $6000 fine plus $9400 to Air Canada for the cost of diverting the flight.

We had 26 arrested guys arrested on arrival the summer before last on a flighT for being drunk.

You should sit in my ops room for a week in August. Nothing will surprise you after that. You'll also have a different option on moaning pilots and part time single mothers
