February 4, 201511 yr DTG have only themselves to blame. I'm getting emails and messages that describe percentages so low and so appalling that only the desperate would agree to them. You cannot support a product when the net revenue is less than 15% of the total revenue, and that figure is conservative. February 4, 201511 yr As a long time user of Railworks/Train Simulator, I agree with most of what has been said about DTG - certainly the lack of support, and useful documentation. However, I can't agree that it is a closed system. There are many independent creators of routes and rolling stock, both paid and free, and their offerings are often more innovative and of a higher quality than those from DTG.
February 4, 201511 yr So far it looks like Flight 1 is the only major player who appears to be in Bed with DTG on any real level. I must quickly point out that this claim is being made by DTG. I don't know that Flight 1 has said anything on the subject. February 4, 201511 yr Commercial Member I see no reference to F1 on the DTG steam page. I do see Just Flight and the Carenado/Alabeo team signed up. I wonder what type of deal they did wth JF... February 4, 201511 yr Nobody more paranoid than Flight 1 TBH, I didn't really get that impression. Obviously, I'm not privy to the details, but I simply didn't sense any enthusiasm about the whole DTG affair, and at least one person there who is known for calling BS without reservations did precisely that as regard all the FSX:SE hype  Tym
February 4, 201511 yr one person there who is known for calling BS without reservations did precisely that as regard all the FSX:SE hype And then quickly made sure his product was compatable with FSX-SE
February 4, 201511 yr And then quickly made sure his product was compatable with FSX-SE  Yes, but to be fair that was done to provide an independent FSX-SE compatible addon with no interference, and probably requested by Steam users. The closed system DLC is an entirely different matter. There are two simultaneous discussions going on here. One is opinions about FSX-se as a core sim, and the other is about DLC specifically re-sold, re-made, or developed and marketed by Steam/DTG. The derogatory comments you might have read were entirely connected with Steam-marketed addons, not general addons which happen to be made FSX-se compatible. And now working on P3D versions. iFly737 for p3d was not handled well, and left a sour note for many. $$$$ Sounds like I am developer bashing, far from it, just calling it how I see it. They have one of the best refund policy in the sim world. And have some great developers. Their front office needs a make over. February 4, 201511 yr Speaking of $$$ ... what is going on with Majestic Q400 Pilot and Training editions for P3D? I'd happily drop a bucket of money on Q400 Training version so long as it delivers the promised Lvars so cockpit builders can go to town ... or did the FSX:SE release cause them to scramble and hence the delays? Sorry a little off track. Cheers, Rob.
