February 19, 201511 yr Yes, your guess is right. I'm from Germany. ^_^ I also hope that we will get it this weekend. But I doubt it. Philipp Schwaegerl

February 20, 201511 yr I think PMDG could launch open beta updates in a regular basis... Active Sky Next releases several open betas before launching a service update... This could combat piracy, as everybody wants the latest version available... But that's just my humble opinion... How would it combat piracy????? Its not called piracy because they want the latest version! its because they don't want to pay! Pete Richards I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988. February 20, 201511 yr Hello all, I've read on the last replies, that the update will be out shortly. Is it true ?Besides this, what changes and updates will there be on this patch , besides the weather radar ? Thank you and sorry if these have been already asked. Stefano Robert Rebessi
February 20, 201511 yr We all want the latest updates ASAP, but these things take time. I am a beta tester for a couple of airport addon developers, but I know full well that beta testing something like the PMDG 737NGX will be a LOT more intensive and difficult than zipping around an airport looking for missing textures, or misbehaving AI planes! Beta testers of aircraft will have to test and retest the same thing over and over again in multiple different scenarios...and then they will have to do it all over again when the next beta version is available! February 20, 201511 yr I may, or May not be pushing my Luck with these posts, but to be honest - I feel my 'fears' where justified with the recent screenshot release of the 737NGX in Prepar3d. I am willing to bet that PMDG is not focusing much of their resources except into the development of the SP1d patch for the existing FSX users, while they are focusing a primary portion of their resources onto the Prepar3d version - because simply put, free patch vs new paid version - I know PMDG is a business, and they have to pay their developers and their licensing fees, but what ever happened to fixing what you have before you start work on something new? Personally, I expect the Prepar3d version to be done first, then a week or two later the sp1d patch will finally be given out because the people who where on testing the prepar3d version will finally be able to finish the testing on sp1d - Or just maybe, they'll be released at the same time. Thats just my two sense, may or may not be correct - I just feel a bit cheated that there was no warning on the store page about incompatibilities with steam edition, and i don't know how many other steam edition users bought this plane just to find out after the purchase it doesn't work and will not work until this patch is put out, but i feel there should of at least been some sort of warning or more urgency to getting this patch released... -Robert Millington Robert Millington

Why would you assume that the existing NGX is compatible with FSX-SE when it not listed as a supported platform? Why would you assume that the existing NGX is compatible with FSX-SE when it not listed as a supported platform? Because steam edition is basically the equivalent of gold edition, it comes with both SP2 and Acceleration prebuilt in as well as all the other things that gold edition came with, except its alittle updated which is why a lot of addons and mods for FSX don't work with steam Edition. -Robert Millington Robert Millington

Always best to verify before the purchase. Otherwise, it's at your own risk, really. As you said yourself, FSX and FSX:SE are just different enough that it usually causes issues. That being said, you'll have a free update soon enough to have it in FSX:SE with more features than your original purchase would've had anyway. Kyle Rodgers

I didn't find this out until after i had purchased a few addons that did work and started finding a bunch i wanted to get that don't work, unfortunately for me i bought the 737NGX first because I adore the 737's. I hadn't a clue at that point that a lot of FSX mods did not work with FSX:SE - I figured FSX is FSX and it didn't really matter the edition, that it would work regardless. My Inexperience was quickly remedied though. -Robert Millington Robert Millington

Its nearly been a month since i bought the aircraft, and i was told via the ticketing system that the patch was expected within the next week.
