March 13, 201511 yr Author Not to push the issue, but is it possible to have force the AI to land on three parallel runways simultaneously at really busy airports , like at KDFW or KATL? Yes, I could, using 33-33-33 balancing? I'm interested to see how the two-runway (50-50) is working before extending it though. -Roland Thanks for the hint; indeed, I just found at the console window : "There may be no avaiable gates. The AI-aircraft will now be deleted." Strange - I've just counted and found, there are more then 20 free gates avaiable. I always use the same starting situation for monitoring, and it didn't happen before. I think there must be some other cause. This is related to the new parking algorithm used in 1.4B. For example, the 20 free gates might not be seen as available because their radius it too small for the AI's wingspan. -Roland Could I kinda ask if I use UT2 does your programme run along side this? I ask this as the UT2 programe has several parameters e.g. Spawn aircraft, and adjusting the amount of planes to maintain the FPS. Yes, there some info. in the readme about what options to change. Can I also kindly ask in your latest update aircraft now get removed after a minute to un block the taxi way. How is this handled at say single operation runways when on occasions it takes two to three minutes for the inbound plane to complete it,s final land and taxi off the runway. Yes, that is a risk. You can increase the time-out value if you're at an airport you think needs a larger time-out. The option can be changed on-the-fly (while FSX is running). Entering a zero disables the feature. Also, the time-out cannot be increased beyond the FSX internal time-out limit (although that would be a nice feature).

I know afcad parking wingspan values have been inconsistent with different scenery designers through the years, so I'll test with some others for the airport, but something seems amiss. I am using the XP version in network, btw. Also, is it possible to have the AIMonitor window retain its formatting across different sessions, like the TrafficToolbox window? By that I mean could we be able to uncheck which columns we would like displayed and then resize them and have the formatting retained for the next session? Would be cool. To expand even further, if you could also include a sorting variable similar to the old AI Separation utility, where one could display traffic in AIMonitor based on the distance from your current aircraft position, I also think this would be very valuable for tracking. Also using the XP version (but not for long) and networked. Andy Brockbank
March 14, 201511 yr And just to add - I've seen the disappearing landings as well at EGLL, with plenty of adequately sized, correctly labelled gates available. March 14, 201511 yr This is related to the new parking algorithm used in 1.4B. For example, the 20 free gates might not be seen as available because their radius it too small for the AI's wingspan. I'm using EDDL by Aerosoft. I've checked the radius at the gates. They have various size (about 25m to 43m), and it never happened before. To be sure, I have enlarged the radius from 25m to 40m by ADE. But the same result; AI-aircrafts still disapear all after landing. Only an idea : Could it be that, that AIC check the stock-AFCAD instead the addon-AFCAD for available gates ?
March 14, 201511 yr Author Guys, Please check the AI_cfg_data.txt file in the main AIController directory. The file should contain select aircraft.cfg data culled from all the user's installed aircraft, so the file should look fairly comprehensive upon quick inspection (that would be a good result). -Roland

The AI_cfg_data.txt file contains only the FSX installed flyable user-aircraft and no AI-aircraft at me. My AI-aicrafts are in a seperat folder (Flight Sinulator X / SimObjects / AI-Aircraft). May be that's the cause.
March 14, 201511 yr Thanks Roland looking really good so far with the new option of forcing the traffic to land on a specific runway, is it possible to add the option that forces that traffic to takeoff from a specific runway? Arslan Nouar

My AI-aicrafts are in a seperat folder (Flight Sinulator X / SimObjects / AI-Aircraft). May be that's the cause. Yep, thanks for checking, that's the problem. AIController is only searching the aircraft subfolder for aircraft.cfg files. BTW, are you using a AI aircraft package? If so, all users of this package are probably experiencing the same issue. This should be a quick fix (just changing the program's search path), unfortunately I'm away this weekend. Here's a quick workaround until then. In the windows file explorer, search for all aircraft.cfg files in the FSX/P3D drive. Select all (Ctrl-A) and COPY these files into a temp folder in simobjects/aircraft. . Run AIMonitor and perform a "Force Update of Runway and Taxi Data". That should create a AI_cfg_data.txt file with all the AI data from the temp folder. Then delete the temp folder. -Roland
March 14, 201511 yr Not all My Traffic planes contain a file called aircraft.cfg. Some contain a sim.cfg file. Users need to re-name the sim.cfg files after the copy and paste. Edit: But then have multiple file names doesn't work either because it places a (#) after each duplicate name. Then AIMon will not read the MT files. Bottom line is that you cannot have multiple files of the same name contained in one folder. Work around is to copy all the MT aircraft folders, get them into the Airplanes folder in FSX, do the scan and then delete the MT planes that you just added. Edit: And change all the sim.cfg names to aircraft.cfg. Quite a bit of work to do right now.
March 14, 201511 yr Hi Roland Thanks for this great AI tool :Applause: I have a small issue with landing AI traffic i EKCH Scenery from FlyTampa . They will not land correctly, they overflies the runway and takeoff again.I have followed the steps in the setup guide on youtube: Can i have done somthing wrong here since they won't land correctly?Cheers Dennis
March 14, 201511 yr I can report lots of go-arounds too. In a half-hour session at Gatwick, I saw three go-arounds for every one aircraft that landed successfully.
March 14, 201511 yr Author I have a small issue with landing AI traffic i EKCH Scenery from FlyTampa . They will not land correctly, they overflies the runway and takeoff again. Same with me at default KDTW, planes won't land, just keep going around. I can report lots of go-arounds too. In a half-hour session at Gatwick, I saw three go-arounds for every one aircraft that landed successfully. My initial thought was missed approach data was yet again making its way into the approach files, but the EKCH and KDTW converted ok using the 1.4B AIConv.exe (I'm actually relieved my initial suspicion was incorrect). Is there a chance you have an old runway value (or values) in the force landing runway option that doesn't align with the airport you're currently at? This has caught me out before. Another question....does the console state any reason why the go-arounds are happening (e.g,. incursion with AI taking off same runway)? I'll take a look at this on my development platform when I get back. -Roland Thanks Roland looking really good so far with the new option of forcing the traffic to land on a specific runway, is it possible to add the option that forces that traffic to takeoff from a specific runway? Not yet, although you can set select takeoff runways in ADE. Work around is to copy all the MT aircraft folders, get them into the Airplanes folder in FSX, do the scan and then delete the MT planes that you just added. Yes, thanks for that correction. The MT aircraft folders need to be copied into the Airplanes folder in FSX, do the scan (force update in AIMonitor), then delete the copied folders. When I get back, I double-check that I'm searching for *.cfg files in code.
March 14, 201511 yr Is there a chance you have an old runway value (or values) in the force landing runway option that doesn't align with the airport you're currently at? No, it was the very first force I ever tried. A restart of FSX fixed this, but then I went to default KFSO and tried to force 28R, but planes continued to land on 28L. Yes I waited a very long time, like 45 minutes. Something else I noticed today: the data on the AIM screen never updates. I watched planes for an hour that were in the air but their data never changed. No, FSX was not paused!!
