Suitable Graphics Card For P3D ?

Featured Replies

Hi, Just need some advice on a new graphics card for P3D. Currently I have a Gigabyte GTX 580 which I think is failing, and I have had to reduce clock speed to stop the dreaded NVDKKM401 errors. I believe that is one of the failings of the Gigabyte cards.

Anyway, have been looking at this EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti Superclock 2GB GDDR5 and does fit my budget. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

780 GTX are selling at very good prices - I picked up a new overclocked edition for about £200

How much will you spend on money?

I would prefer you a GTX 780Ti or GTX 980 and not the GTX 970 because of the VRam Bug.

The GTX 750Ti is not enough for P3Dv2 - not powerful enough and only 2Gb.

My advice would be to keep saving some money until you have around $250-$300 to spend on GPU

I also would wait and save money for a more powerfull GPU.

I would prefer you a GTX 780Ti

Is 3Gb better than 3.5Gb?  And most 970's will perform faster than a Ti when overclocked.

I would prefer the 980 over a 780 or a 970.

I'm also looking for a new graphics card at the moment, because the GTX670 (4GB) isn't perfect for P3D.

Thanks Guy's. Looks like I will need to wait a bit longer and get a better card. The 980's sell for about 1000 NZD here. We pay too much for hardware here unfortunately.

A 970 is still the best value card

I doubt anyone is using 3+ GB vram unless you're 4k or multi monitor

If you've got money to burn ya go 980 for sure

I've got an eVGA 970 SC and it's an absolute beast, the 3.5GB thing is like a storm in a teacup, the card does use all 4GB, the last 0.5GB is just not as fast. Definitely go ahead and get a 970 if you can afford it. Beats any card except the 980.

Any card - did you forget the real beast its called the Titan - couldn't resist
