March 2, 201511 yr I had similar problems. I finally installed ASN on both the server and my client PC and that did the trick for me. Don't ask me why but after that I had no issues anymore to connect via the client PC. Let me know if this works for you as well.
March 2, 201511 yr Yes I have installed as connect module on the server computer. Where should I check to see if that is installed correctly? The as_connect software, if installed correctly, should be located in an "as_srv" subdirectory of the P3D main directory, similar to your FSX installation. At least that's how it is on my setup; I run ASN on the network (and it works fine in my opinion) for both FSX and P3D. - Jens Peter "Penz" Pedersen

Ok when I look in the as_srv folder I don't see any asconnect files in there. I have installed this many times and even running as admin too. Any thought on how to fix this. Manual install? Maybe this is where the problem is. I will try installing asn on server tonight as well to see if that fixes it. Anthony Neumann

March 2, 201511 yr Author Yes, I copied the ASN SimConnect install from the client computer. This is whats in my as_srv folder Voice Folder as_audio as_btstrp.dll as_btstrp_config_manager ASN fap_dat NAaudio.dll Anthony Neumann
March 2, 201511 yr Was the file named ASConnect_P3D_install.exe? If so looks like you have the correct files. Denis
March 2, 201511 yr Author Yes it was. Still can't understand why this won't connect then. I am going to try to install active sky on the server computer tonight to see if that fixes it. Anthony Neumann
March 2, 201511 yr When you say you installed P3D to your 'root dir', what did you label the P3D folder? I am running successfully over a network. The Client is an iMac running in a Virtual machine. Fiddly but not impossible. Are you sure you have both simconnect.cfg and simconnect.xml in their correct locations? - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
March 3, 201511 yr As long as ports are the same in both client and network it shoudl be OK. Seems like I had to add an entry for ASconnect in the dll.xml file for it to work in P3D 2.4. Jeff Callender
March 3, 201511 yr Do you have this entry in your dll.xml file? That file is located in your users\username\appdata\roaming\lockheed martin folder: <Launch.Addon> <Name>as_connect</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <Path>as_srv\as_btstrp.dll</Path> </Launch.Addon> Regards, Graham Derreck CYMM

Basically saying the path is denied. My folder is set to share so don't know why this is. Anthony Neumann
March 3, 201511 yr I had a bear of a time getting mine to work. It ended up being a combination of things. First run Prepar3d as administrator. Secondly check your simconnect config files to make sure they are setup correctly. For me I had a line in mine for max packet size that I didn't have on my flightsim computer. It was allowing it to work for a bit but then I had errors in the log files. Two things you can look at is the log file in your as_srv folder (might just be a text file) and also the log files on your client PC in your ASN folder (There should be a simconnect log file in there and an asn log file). Post what you have and we can go from there. March 3, 201511 yr Just switched to P3D, I had this working with FSX in network configuration. For some reason I just cant figure this out to get P3D to work. ASN is on my client computer and P3D on my server. When I load P3D I see simconnect dialog box in the back ground working, WideFs connects just cant get ASN, says waiting for simulator and all the top options are grayed out where I cant press them. I followed directions on ASN manual. I have P3D saved right in my C drive, C:\Prepare 3D V2--------would that make a difference? On my server computer when I look at the simconnects under control panel/programs I see 3 Microsoft SimConnects and 1 ESP SimConnect, on my client machine I dont see the ESP SimConnect, does that matter? I have everything figured with port #5000, I have cleared this port in windows firewall as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did open a ticket with HiFi still waiting for them to respond just would really like to use ASN. I tried with regular ASN and now been trying with the latest Beta one 1.0.5532.28306 take a look at this video..(same thing for P3D) I did followed the steps and have no problems at all make sure u share u appdata..my documents...and P3D location files in you network... If not of those post help I think you are going to need some help via team-viewer ...words sometimes cant describe exactly whats going on.....and definitely you are missing something in you dll.xml or .ini at P3D v2 /my documents regards Pedro Pedro Rodriguez
March 3, 201511 yr Cropduster, I have the same problem as you have. Been working on this problem for two weeks now with no luck! I have tried everything and still get same message as you do. I even deleted P3D 2.5 and reinstalled and still get same message when I try to install ASN. ASN does install but keep getting the same message when trying to connect. I will follow this thread close to see what happens. Tried everything that is on this thread to solve the problem with no results. Regards Lamar Wright
