PMDG Research Report

Featured Replies

Hello-

So for my Sophomore high school research report, I decided to do it on PMDG. I love the community, and there is a LOT that can be covered in the simple 3 page report.

I'm thinking about starting off with the history of PMDG, and where they came from and started. Through their first projects, and where they stand now. And finally, their plan for the future.

Most of this, I can get by reading interviews and forum topics (EVERYTHING WILL BE CITED SO EVERYONE GETS CREDIT IF I REFERENCE TO THEIR PIECE), but some things I might need help here.

Like, how would you describe PMDG's relationship with Boeing?

Things like that, if I need help with, I will bring here. But what else should I include the the report?

-Thanks.

Good luck my friend

I did. I sent them a ticket asking for permission to do the report on them. Still waiting on a response.

Dmitri, asking if you can do a report on them was probably not the best use of a ticket. I'm guessing the answer will be 'yes'...but that still leaves you with nothing. don't waste their time or your own.

So, forget about the response and get some research in. Start here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precision_Manuals_Development_Group that gives you all the 'questions' you had in your original post, then put together a list of additional questions that you would like to ask PMDG and then send the questionnaire in the form of a ticket.

Perhaps your best bet would be to ask if one of their personnel would be willing to allow you to interview them, perhaps via email or online chat.

I would be very surprised if you get an in depth explanation of that.  It will be commercially confidential.

I wish you luck with your report.

I understand now that PMDG;s relation with Boeing might be a bit much, I'll cut that out of the report.

I would just mention it. Showing how they achieve such accurate results. That unfortunately some information simply isn't obtainable. Trade secrets, intellectual property etc

You have my permission to use any of my quotes in your report.  That is, of course, unless the quotes demonstrate a lack of technical knowledge, poor piloting skills, lack of social graces, or naivete.  Slim pickings after that.  Good luck.

I would NEVER do that. Thank you for the permission.

Any reputable teacher would not allow Wikipedia as a source for research. Just fyi

I remember doing much better on my school reports when I led off with a funny anecdote or joke, preferably one related to the subject at hand.

You might try one that starts out ... "Robert Randazzo and Tom Allensworth walk into a bar ..."

My English teacher is 10% English teacher, and 90% dance teacher. She is so blind. Today we were supposed to check our sources, I showed her the FSX AVSIM topic area XD and said all of the topics were sources. She doesnt care where the info comes from.

Don't belittle that, afterall you've a lot better chance of being successful as a dancer than as an English teacher.
