Anyone try My Traffic 6 yet?

Featured Replies

Dave,

My 7L looks just as good as yours. I actually fly from the runway and not from the the roof of the airport. Good try though.

To be somewhat more mature about it, could you post some examples where the AI traffic is more than some colored stripes way off in the distance?

I personally don't start out my flights on the runway Jim  . While parked and when taxiing to and from the gates or parking I see plenty of gorgeous aircraft up close. The views from above are to show off the traffic. With screens of MyTraffic, I giggle more than anything at how silly they look, they actually take away from the realism.

My intent here was never to bash Mytraffic but more to defend Fallap and others who have said they've tried My Traffic and that their current AI looks far better only to be told that they are wrong or that their system isn't setup correctly.

Ah, no Jim. Your head is in the sand and your stuck in 2003. Its 2015.  Dave's screenshots look far better with way more detail and added realisim. Aircraft are where they should be with the appropriate liveries. Your just too proud to admit something from 2015 looks better than 2003. Another one afraid of change. I just washed my 71 Pinto, and it looks way better and even runs better than that 2014 Audi across the street, hands down.

It's not about ultra detailed liveries, but about the quality of the traffic that you are seeing. Off topic but just answering your question Ray, freeware AI users also have traffic around the entire globe that's not only relevant to the area, it's accurate and actually looks good.

Dave, I agree that the quality (i.e. relevance of appropriate airlines at an airport) is very important. For example I wouldn't expect to see BA 737s or A320s at LAX. A380s,777s and 747s are fine. I'm not hugely impressed seeing a Vietnam Airlines 757 at Manchester, England but such is the number of flights, aircraft and liveries I can overlook this.

Here's the blurb from SimMarket's on MTX6... "The package contains over 200 aircraft models, with over five and a half thousand liveries, covering over five and a half million weekly AI flights, serving over 8,000 airports."

I doubt any WOAI user has the dedication to have manually installed that number of Ai, liveries or flights. I'll post a screenshot of traffic at New Delhi later today. It would be interesting to see a WOAI equivalent should anyone feel interested enough.

Here's a shot of Bangkok Intl with MTX Ai at 70%. Plenty of variety albeit with a few unrealistic aircraft. But only a few.

Yes, actually they are pretty ugly though. Taxi up along side them, it's not only the low quality models, the liveries look outright bad.

That screen is the from the old Bangkok Airport, which is now mostly used by LCC's and isn't served by Thai Airlines or the SAS hub that you are showing here. SAS B737's and MD80's (those were actually retired from service a few years ago), they've never had 747-400's and no 747's in well over 20 years.

Ray, you said "Plenty of variety albeit with a few unrealistic aircraft. But only a few." Only a few? I'd say probably all in that screen are unrealistic. Phuket Air went out of business in 2007.

5000 hideous liveries? I've got well over that in my setup as do many many others using freeware ai. I may not have 200 models, but it's close and they all look FAR better than any that I saw when testing MyT6.

Here's a couple from DMK in Bangkok

Here's some from actual BKK

I'd find similarly varied but realistic traffic if I went to India, Africa, South America or anywhere else in the world. It's not like Mytraffic is the only one that's done it.

Again, MyT 6 and prior is a nice basic and simple all in one package to populate you sim with at best mediocre traffic. But to tell others who have gone other routes with their ai that they are wrong in saying MyTraffic looks rough or bad is wrong itself. They ARE very right when compared to what they are used to seeing in their sim.

Dave, Something tells me they know your AI looks pretty sweet with accuracy and detail, but they have a huge grin saying otherwise.

Back to the previous analogy somewhere in this thread..... These payware AI packages are the little round circle trainset.  These custom AI are free, but are like that cool project hobby trainset complete with proper scenery, train consists, locomotives, and a sweet track layout.

Err. yeah not quite. All of the airline scheds are current, maybe going back to as far as Winter 2013 on some tougher scheds.

 Keep grasping.

Who said the WoAI stuff looked rough and wrong? All I've seen is WoAI guys saying that about MYT6? I only stated that I don't want the hassle of all the separate packages. I've used WoAI before...I know that it's well done. That really isn't the issue....

Isn't it lovely that there is a target audience for both?

Personally, I have no trouble seeing the good in both solutions, but it seems like I am the minority! :P

(Some people can't stand cheese, some don't like fish, that's perfectly OK, we're not all alike. I eat both with great joy ...).
