Any benefits to the newest P3D V2.5.12945 ?

Then sadly I don't know what to suggest.

Well only one thought what about the ifly737?  Can you try the same with the PMDG NG? Has 2.5 broken the ifly737? Just a thought!

Not sure I would have used the word unfortunately if I would have had that kind of setup

Then again I really don't see how your 3 screens could cause a VAS issue. Having multiple screens and/or running at a high resolution would rather affect how much VRAM is used in my book.

Hmm i also have had bigger VAS problems lately . First i was blaming UTX 2.0 ( only using roads) and the MytrafficV6 edition (vs UTII last) but without those i still have issues in places i never had before (EKCH is only possible with normal Autogen LOD 4.5) and TML at 1024 in the NGX  but still hitting 3.7GB on approach. I could have sworn i had 3.5-3.6 in these condition before the hotfix

So maybe there is something related to latest hotfix ? who knows...

Was just to add to one of my last posts that I permanently use LOD=4.5 and TML=1024 and this would help a bit with VAS for sure.

Also in FTX Vector I have disabled secondary and tertiary roads as well as small rivers & streams and frozen surface under the water tab and also power lines under the various tab. Guess all these things would have a positive effect on VAS usage.

Does anyone else do what I do?

I disable the exterior model for the PMDG

so far so good with 1 OOM after parking at the gate (autosave too)

Also I hope that Tesselation will be fixed per v3 as they have aannounced.

Now with Teselation ON colors from photo scenery look bleached out.

Addon objects appear on their exact spot as where they are planned.

Turning Tesselation OFF makes them look normal, but makes mesh in the far distance looking less good .

Addon objects appear slightly off place ( 3-5 ft ) compared to the photo scenery.

I've tried this with both the 777 and 737 NGX. Yes, the models disappear, but it doesn't save any VAS. At least not for me.

Yes it does save vas, around 300mb with the 777

Since installing the latest update to the 777, I only save about 50meg of VAS disabling the exterior model. This was tested at FT Dubai. Got me stumped. Use to be 300 as you said Dave. I flew to and landed at LOWW with 900 free VAS

Well Julian that is interesting because I did a test on Sunday and thought....VAS seems better but did not measure it. So it is very interesting to hear that.

I normal run disabling the exterior model but in the test I sort of went mad and all was fine.

I have my P3D tuned via your guide, except for a couple of slider settings, I have it much the same set up as yours. I will be interested in what you find, as it certainly a big change as still being able to use the exterior model is a bonus :)

So, do we need to reinstall P3d and then apply this patch? Is that the best way to go?

One never uninstalls for just a patch.

The patch is 32 MB and re-adjusts the shaders and other things

The full version up to the patch is 10G+ and is essentially not required

Hello everyone

This might be a stupid question haha. But how do I know which version do I have ? What I know is that it's 2.5 but i'm not sure which version to be specific. And also, is the  2.5.12945.0. patch, the one that fixes the Sun bloom bug? The one were when you look at the sun the screen turns white.. Thanks :)
