I think you misinterpreted that post. Can you provide a link?

Sure, here:

I have mentioned a few times that we are developing the 747-400 and 747-8 airplanes more-or-less in parallel because it is far easier from a development standpoint to do so.  The two will cease developing in parallel about the time we hit beta testing on the 744, which hopefully won't be too much longer.

Sure, here:

Thanks.

What he was saying was the 747-400 and 747-8 will be developed in parallel until the time they get into beta.

The time until both get into beta - he had hoped - would not be too much longer. He wasn't trying to say the time in beta would hopefully not be much longer (as if they were in beta, which they are not). The only thing in beta right now is the DC-6.

Kyle, I agree with what you're saying. I, too, knew that Robert meant that he hoped both aircraft would move into Beta soon and not that they'd be finishing Beta soon. What I was hoping was that by now they'd be in Beta and we might be seeing some update around now. From what you've said, they're still not in Beta and so it seems like we're still a long way off release and a fair way off an update or shots of the VC. Thanks for your patience.

I always see it as a good sign when a post like this is unstickied...or is that unstuck?

Normally a sign that something will take its place in the not too distant future...

Could be my imagination though!

I wouldn't read too much into it. I just saw that it was over 2 months old, and the sim conference video had more current updates (along with the PCPilot article).

Roger that!

I have an idea - may have been mentioned before but - perhaps when an announcement is made you guys could sticky it (as you do already) but then lock it. Sometimes Robert or yourself or any of the others may have something to add to it and then its easy to see when you do. Otherwise we end up with a 150 post monster where good info can be lost on us. Usually the first 3 pages are of people generally saying thanks and then there's the middle lot with questions and then towards the end full on declarations of hatred! OK so that last bit may be a slight exaggeration on my part! :P

Now the drawback that I think you may face on doing it that way may be that you get multiple threads start up in response - however one way around that may be to have a discussion thread separately (no need to sticky it as it'll probably stay up on its own) to manage that.

Anyway just a thought!

I have a question concerning the systems.

Will there be a function to intercept the ATIS?

Your question makes no sense. The ATIS which is broadcast over VHF is essentially a METAR with active runways indicated and an identifier using the phonetic alphabet. How do you intercept that? You need to change some words in your question.
