3 Imaginesim airports now freeware

No virus warning here using AVG.  Don't forget these products were made10 years ago by a reputable producer. Just a false positive.

Heck I have been told by Avast and AVG in the past that my Flight1 ATR and my Flight1 Dreamfleet 727 were infected. Just install them with your AV off and then tell your AV to ignore FS9 folder

I installed all 3 manually without any problem.  First to a temporary folder to check performance, (all satisfactory with an E8400@3Ghz), then moved them to my normal FS drive, (not C:).

If you are having problems, it may be your OS. Only OSes upto and including XP are mentioned in the manual.  (Being a dinosaur, I'm still using XP SP3).

Also, all checked Ok with Avast A/V, Superantispyware, Malwarebytes, and Spybot S&D.

Speaking of KDTW, does anyone know how to remove the static traffic?

Look in the manual under FAQ.  It tells you how to remove static aircraft and vehicles.

It says to download a new Afcad file from its website/airports but I haven't been able to find it.  KEWR and KMSY are easier. The manuals say to rename or move bgl files beginning with parked_aircraft.

Edit.  KMSY works Ok without the parked_aircraft files, but KEWR crashed with both files disabled.  It seems to work Ok if only the parked_aircraft_cargo_01 is disabled.

(...), you can upload them here for an enhanced check by multiple AV softwares in one go (including F-Secure):

4 out of 50+ scanners flagged the airports as malware; 50+ scanners stated the files are fine. But does a referendum really work out better for computer security than it does for Greece?   :P

I tried removing the parked_aircraft .bgl and it didn't help. The static aircraft remained where they were and the parking spots for AI got messed up (aircraft parking in buildings, etc, when it was fine before). I was hoping that someone had found the replacement AFCAD mentioned in the manual.

Which airport?

Removing static aircraft should not affect ai parking spaces. You sure you have disabled any previous afcad ?

KDTW (as stated in my first post). I have no other afcads installed, and before removing AF2_KDTW_parked_aircraft.bgl the aircraft all parked just fine.

There are no parked_aircraft bgl files in KDTW.  That applies to KEWR and KMSY, (see their manuals).

There should be a replacement AF2 file for KDTW but it doesn't seem to available now that the scenery is free.  If you can't find the replacement AF2 file, you should not just remove the present one, hence your parking problems.

If you have removed the file  AF2_KDTW_parked_aircraft.bgl from the scenery folder I am not surprised your ai aircraft are parking in the wrong place. That is the afcad file. Your scenery will now rely on the default FS9 afcad for KDTW

To remove the static aircraft you just need to remove the files begining aircraft_cargo and aircraft_terminals

I've found another AF2 file for Imagine Sim KDTW (and KMSY) here at Avsim. File name imaginesim_af2_bgl.zip.

I haven't yet tried it but it might be what we're looking for.  It is an old file.

For KDTW I found this in the library here http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=177092

Or do a search for kdtw-imaginesim.zip

I adds the North Terminal and contains its own afcad. Make sure you follow the instructions in the readme.

Thank you very much guys. I removed the aircraft_cargo/terminals.bgl files and that got rid of the static aircraft. I'll give those two AFCADS a try, too.

This is pretty good for a freeware scenery, and certainly better than the BluePrint version IMO. If only it worked in FSX.

It seems obvious to me that a commercial developer would not offer these products for free if they did work in FSX and P3D.

This is a FS9 forum, long may it remains so.

Thanks Peter for the heads-up. FRF provides a good looking enhancement to this airport.
