I know I've been mentioning the usefulness of an Avatar for years, with the latest mention being in the DTG suggestion thread when I brought it up again. (and was immediately told that would make a sim into a game)

Now that somebody has actually done it and it seems to be becoming so popular, I have to admit to feeling a bit vindicated.

8) The ability to design an in-game Avatar to represent you. The avatar would be able to interact in various ways with the environment (do walk-arounds, etc) and would also be your personal representation in social interactions with other players. Social interaction should be an important part of the multiplayer experience.

If you want to turn it more into a game.

Small of me I know, but it feels good to see the genre advancing and trying different things. One of my reasons for sticking with what I had was that I felt P3d was just FSX with a few bells. Perhaps my thoughts on that will change as P3D finds more ways to make itself distinct.

I like the Avatar! Maybe we should see him plastered with stickers mentioning all the countries he's visited.

Now it only needs the "WASTED" message when your avatar dies. Rumors say it's planned for v3.2.

Jokes (!?) apart, imagine what would have P3D users said, if the avatar feature had been implemented by DTG rather than by Lockheed Martin...

"Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

Exactly.

Can an avatar meet up with another on multi-player?

Mmmm, can the avatar be re-skinned?

The interactions of a male & female avatar during multi-player could become quite mind boggling!!
