March 16, 201610 yr Im havng issues getting it to run on p3d 3.2. I had it running ok in p3d 3.1 but I had to completely uninstall 3.1 and then install 3.2. So I reinstalled UT2 . Everytime I start p3d now I get that red stop sign saying I need to reboot. I did reboot but still getting red stop sign every boot up of p3d. I hear the boot up sound though but not UT2 in addon menu :-( . What am I doing wrong. Ah yes the Red Sign of hell. I'm playing around with my own set up here trying to reproduce that error, but i cant, Ive tried everything, corrupting the exe.xml file, Changing Admin rights and permissions on folders and the UT2.exe as well, Moving files around, Taking P3D and UT2 off my firewall and Ant virus Software. I would really love to know what causes that Red sign Error, it seems to be very common with UT2. 1 When the Red error comes is there anything else running in Task Manger\Aplications? That might be throwing it. 2 Did you check for error reporting located in C\Users\AppData\Local\Temp? 3 Are you running Prepar3D and UT2 and UT2Services and Powerpack as administrator. RightClick\Properties\Compatibility\ Tick the Box ? 4 Did you Install anything into Program(86) ? If so do you have full rights and permissions? 5 Did you add everything to do with your Flight Sim into your Exclusions Zone of your Firewall and your Antivirus Software? 6 Did you Install using the Migration? 7 Did you check your exe.xml file for wrong or corrupt Entries ? 8 When you open your UT2 Control panel does it open without Errors? 9 What Version of UT2 have you got, 2013\summer\Fall ? If so are you using the correct Powerpack Version 2.10?

If so are you using the correct Powerpack Version 2.10? So I had p3d 3.1 and UT2 worked fine. I did a full uninstall of 3.1 and installed 3.2 . I installed UT2 again like I did before with estonia migration tool like normal. I do get 3 or 4 error windows when I do open UT2 control panel though. I dont understand why?? I figured out that when I do get those stop sign errors when I load p3d it does not load utservices at all. I load utservices manually and can see UT2 in add-on menu but see no AI at all. Which is probably because of the UT2 control panel errors. Also I get two stop sign errors instead of one not sure why
March 17, 201610 yr Ok well the Install has been all messed up, The EMT tool didn't connect up the correct Paths for your UT2 Control Panel to work. If The UT2.exe doesn't Launch when you start Prepar3D Automatically there is a problem with your exe.xml file. Look you have 2 Options. 1 You can Uninstall UT2 and Install again using the EMT tool. 2 Or you can follow this guide and Install UT2 Maually http://www.avsim.com/topic/485133-how-do-i-install-ultimate-traffic-2-prepar3d-v3/ There is no EMT Tool required and No FSX fake Install Required, It takes about 3/4 Minuets to set up ====================== You Need to Uninstall the EMT Tool Please Note: When you Uninstall the EMT Tool, Some left overs Might hang around. 1 Uninstall by using Programs and Features Restart you Computer 2 Delete old UT2 (If any) Entries in your exe.xml file located in AppDatta\Roaming (Back up and other Entries you have in there) 3 Did you try and Manually edit or add Entries in your exe.xml file located in ProgramData? If so delete the Entries in there as well (Back up other Entries) 5 Check your main Prepar3D folder for these Entries after you Uninstall the EMT Tool, Delete them too [/url]
May 11, 201610 yr Change it to "SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft" or the next sequential number (1,2,3). Save file {I kept this as default - SimObjectPaths.1 setting as a 0 threw up an error message during first run (SelectIndex error?) – not sure if the setting of that value was in anyway connected to the error, but it fixed it so I assume it might be} · Copy the edited "prepar3d.cfg" and paste it back into the same directory renaming it "fsx.cfg" · Open the "EXE" file to see if the following is there: {you will probably have to right click this file and choose to open it with notepad. It’s located in same directory as above} False False UT2 C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d\Flight One Software\UltimateTraffic2 \UT2Services.exe True <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>UT2</Name> <path>C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d\Flight One Software\UltimateTraffic2 \UT2Services.exe</Path> <NewConsole>True</NewConsole> </Launch.Addon> {This entry was not there in my case, so I added it. Make sure the path is correct in any event} Thanks - I followed this as a guide rather than a line by line and it got me there. One problem - there is a typo in your exe.xml listing which causes it to miss launching UT2Services: the line: <path>C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d\Flight One Software\UltimateTraffic2 \UT2Services.exe</Path> need a capital P in the first <Path> statement or it is not properly read. Was driving me nuts until I noticed it! Thanks to everyone for working on this: UT2 looks good and is FPS friendly in my P3Dv3 cheers Paul Hand

July 18, 20169 yr Just some addon info here. http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/image/GFY4 I have p3d V3.5... Running a lot of everything but all payware that has never given me an issue. Downloaded UT2... was recommended for Vpilot Model Matching in VATSIM Worked like a charm after installing per a video... Steps where: 1. Install UT2 with FS Estonia 2. Add entry to simobjets.cfg under program data files.. [Entry.7] Title=UT2 Aircraft Path=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft Required=True Active=True 3. Copy Simobjects cfg to Prepare 3d V3 root 4. Add Entry to exe.dll in roaming <Launch.Addon> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Name>UT2</Name> <Path>D:\Prepare3D v3\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe</Path> <NewConsole>True</NewConsole> </Launch.Addon> 5. Started P3D At this point forward all went as expected.... checked out some airports.... a few larger airports had disappearing AI until reset but kept on vanishing.... Adjusted the traffic in area.. think it helped. Had a couple of flights to smaller airports and enjoyed the frames Noticed the quality of the CRJ 700 and though I would add my wilco next gen as well as my embraer 190 to P3D being that UT2 seems to use existing aircraft to model with... Started p3d again... Ran UT2 again and got a warning about select index number less than 0 or something of the sort.... And the RED Stopsign came on asking me to reboot due to a bad shutdown of P3D... and some music when it displayed... Number 1... First though because of poor graphics of Stop sign and music... I had a virus. Number 2 rebooted after cancelling the sign.. without clicking on it... Did an online malware check and after finding one threat... the malware checker hung up and grafics went weird.... Maybe I am wrong.. but could one of these programs be infected? Clue... the error is a flight sim error.. non specific but showing up in FSX and P3D.... associated with different program installs but he most prominent, UT2... I uninstalled UT2, corrected the simobjects.cfg, prepare3d.cfg and exe.dll back to what they where. then searched all registry with the words UT2, Ultimate Traffic and Flight1... Carefully removing only valid finds... Problem is still there. Smells like virus and most posts seem to be in the last year or so.... Any thoughts? Guillermo Schleimer
July 19, 20169 yr Great thread guys, UT2 up and running and looking great in the sim. One issue I have is that if I run the powerpack (for example to update the traffic to go to the new Doha Hamad airport rather the old one that is in the default program) then it breaks the install and I get the 'smartassembly required' warning when the sim boots up. The database conversion itself completes satisactorily and the actual UT2 configurator will run fine, but the UT2services.exe won't. Anyone know what running the powerpack actually changes and why it breaks it? Doha Hamad is looking like a ghost town currently | Ben Weston www.airline2sim.com
July 19, 20169 yr Ben, Is that only if you update traffic that operates to and from a new airport that has been added? I updated my Virgin Atlantic flightplans over the weekend, and those flights (plus everything else) appear to be working fine. July 19, 20169 yr Ben, Is that only if you update traffic that operates to and from a new airport that has been added? I updated my Virgin Atlantic flightplans over the weekend, and those flights (plus everything else) appear to be working fine. I haven't done enough troubleshooting yet, but that may be the case. You used the powerpack to update, presumably? | Ben Weston www.airline2sim.com
July 19, 20169 yr Hello I am thinking to buy UT2 for P3D too. But I have some questions. How are the frames compared when I use UT2 to selfmade AI? I heard/read that UT2 is using his own programm to inject traffic into the sim. Can I use my selfmade AI Traffic with Models like FAIB, FSPX, TFS etc. and combine it with UT2?
July 19, 20169 yr I haven't done enough troubleshooting yet, but that may be the case. You used the powerpack to update, presumably? Yes, I always use the Powerpack when updating my UT2 flightplans. It makes everything so easy  Can I use my selfmade AI Traffic with Models like FAIB, FSPX, TFS etc. and combine it with UT2? Yes, you can. I only fly around the UK in P3D, and I have completely rebuilt the flightplans of most of the airlines that operate in and out of this country using all of the new models that are available. July 19, 20169 yr Problem is still there. Hello. So what your saying is........... You still have the Red error sign after you Uninstall UT2 ?
July 20, 20169 yr Hello. So what your saying is........... You still have the Red error sign after you Uninstall UT2 ? Hey Poppet... Thanks for the reply. Initially after uninstall, it still came up..... I used a registry cleaner to eliminate all traces of UT2 and that solved it.... After backing up, I tried installing again per the tutorial on youtube... which is what I used initially.... UT2 Settings now works and Ut2 works as well but the big red keeps showing.... I don't understand how it started since it worked fine initially on the first install.... (Using a lot of initiallys..) Thanks... Guillermo Schleimer
July 20, 20169 yr Before i get to the Red error sign.......... Using the Migration Tool to Install Ultimate Traffic 2 is overkill, Its really a simple Manual Install that takes about 5 Minutes. The Migration Tool complicates things that are Not complicated. This is to Install Ultimate Traffic 2 Manually. Please Note Uninstall the Migration Tool first, Restart your computer and Insure the Migration Tool files have been removed from your Core Prepar3D folder, you will know these by Name and Date (at the bottom) http://www.avsim.com/topic/485133-how-do-i-install-ultimate-traffic-2-prepar3d-v3/page-1 ================ The big Red error sign (UT2 sign of death) Greatest cause of the big Red Error sign across all Operating Systems is............. (1) Installing into Program Files (x86) Never Install anything to this location, Pick anywhere else Check and confirm for your operating system if these Items are needed and have been updated (2) Check to see is Microsoft Visual C++ 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2013 are installed (3) Check to see is if MS SQL Server 2012 is installed (4) Installed all your simconnect? Located here Prepar3D v3 ► redist ► Interface (5) UT2 is definitely Running as Administrator? And Prepar3D ? (6) Added expectations to your Anti virus Software? (7) Microsoft .NET Framework? Have you got this? Have you update this? (8) Make sure you don't have duplicate UT2 Entries both exe.xml files in AppData\Roaming and ProgramData. There should only be one UT2 Entry in one location!! Having 2 Entries in both locations will 100% bring on the red error sign
