What happened to the DC-6?

Featured Replies

Did I miss something somewhere?  The October update specifically said the DC-6 was next and it would be the first aircraft for all flavors of simulators.

Thanks for you response.

Still in Beta. Silence isn't a bad thing. It usually just means we didn't have anything visual to show you.

"Changed fuel flow logic" is kinda tough to show in pictures, and doesn't make for a good, interesting post.

Thank you for the information.  I was thrown off by the talk about the Queen with nothing mentioned about the DC-6

I am looking forward to its release too.  Glad to hear it is in Beta Testing.

Really looking forward to the DC6. Used to fly the R2800 in the CL215. The sound is beautiful. Engine management is something that is interesting....more to it than turbines. Definitely involving.

Hows the new sound package coming along for the 6? I'm sure I remember hearing you say that the sounds in one of your videos aren't the release sounds and that there will be a specific soundset for the DC-6 once released?

I think they will bring their entire lineup sans MD-11 and older to XP.

Correct. The sounds are still default for now, but a very detailed version (recorded from an actual 6) is being worked on for inclusion in an upcoming build.

I am looking forward to that very much so! Judging by the 777 sounds the DC-6's will be as beautiful if not more so (well it is a classic).

Looking forward to flying her in X-Plane! The calm before the storm is upon us

Jorge,

The long term plan is yes.  We are still learning the platform, which is why the DC-6 is taking so bloody long.  We don't have a clear plan for what happens next...  We will get there, however.

Nice looking graphic in your sig.  Is that their new livery?  If so- it is striking.  Nice to see an airline brave enough to move away from the white-flying-billboard look that they all seem to favor...
