Airliners and Auto-Land in X-Plane 10...

Featured Replies

Guys,

re-installed my preferred EVER Airbus for X-Plane 10 - the QPAC A320.

Wake me up when something performs as PERFECT as this Airbus for X-Plane 10... Not just autoland, but the whole FMGS, the FBW laws implemented, the flight dynamics, etc...

Does it have a gorgeous instrument panel, lot's of great functionalities, full systems simulation ? Nope!  Will come with the Professional update somewhere in the future, but, there is simply nothing that comes on pair with it, with the closest exception being Peter's Airbuses....

I've heard that the A350  ( by FF ? ) also uses the QPAC module ?

José,

RWDesigns has also licensed the FBW from QPAC. It would be very nice to see Jar implement the same in their Buses. So much potential from QPAC.

Ah, ok!  Will have a look at that RWDesigns then...  Thx!

The FF A350 does indeed use the QPAC FBW, a new patch was released a few days ago and an update is coming to bring it to full level.

I don't have the RW A330 so can't comment on it but reading the feedback, the MCDU is about the same level as the FF A350 as far as functionality goes.

didn't Jardesign switch to QPAC fbw for the a330 ?

I really don't think so... but they should IMHO...

I believe that would be RWDesigns.

Is this the free QPAC A320? Or the one sold at the Org store?

The payware version. That's the one I am using, now on version 2.0.3, with the following list of main changes since 2.0.2:

Note: There is 1 year of continuous development between V2.0.2 and V2.0.3, therefore this list is not complete.

New features:
- TO performance calculator: A quick and easy way to compute your V-speeds and your flex temp
- Florence kit option: Allows you to make the ailerons come up with Ground Spoilers to improve landing performance
- NDs now support chronometer and track offset display
- Most SD pages are now available for the high-resolution popup.
- Flight planning now supports the use of custom waypoint definition files.
- Added support for engine failure on TO: You can now choose an EO Acceleration altitude and managed speed target adapts accordingly.
- Flight plan saving and loading now has dedicated MCDU interface. This also allows to store and load speed constraint information.
- TO Performance page now supports entry of Flap/THS and TO offset.
- Reintercept flight plan with HDG push completely reworked
- Implemented norm and altn braking logics and added corresponding information and Also ACCU and NWS status to WHEEL page.
- Fuel consumption improvement
- Pitch behaviour improvement
- Added "GPS Primary" and "GPS Primary Lost" to the NDs.
- Allow brake selection via commands, if brake pedals assigned but not used.
- Park brake can now be released/set with regular brake toggle command, if airplane is stationary.
- Reworked door opening and closing sequence (no impact on 3D model), including possibility to evacuate.

Bug fixes:
- Landing elevation tape on PFD came back
- Time displayed on MCDU FPLN cannot be greater than 2359 anymore. Also, predicted arrival time now shown in bottom line of FPLN page
- Time prediction for TO waypoint in MCDU is now correct.
- Set FAF repaired.
- FLEX indication on popup displays repaired
- Multiple names page now supports 200 waypoints
- APU shuts down now if it runs out of fuel
- Crash during replay fixed.
- Fixed bug with FADEC aircraft electrical supply determination
- Improved Emergency generator behaviour
- Improved interaction between fire-shutoff button and hydraulic systems
- Improved hydraulic PTU behaviour.
- Improved representation of ENG SD page for unpowered FADECs.
- Pitch law retuning when extending/retraction flaps
- Eliminated elevator oscillations when flying with AP in mode V/S
- Speed constraint loading for SID/STAR fixed
- Fixed bug that Thrust "stuck" when in mode V/S and dropping below VLS/above Vmax
- Fixed Aircon bug when repositioning into high cruise altitudes
- No Alpha Floor activation with OEI
- Fixed some replay issues.
- Fixed FPLN behaviour when passing through discontinuity.

I'll grab it as soon as they release the 3D cockpit upgrade (listed on official site as coming Mid 2014  ).

José,

what about the Peter Hager's model ? I see that the QPAC has only a 2D cockpit, and Peter's one a 3D Cockpit. Which one has the best FMGC simulated ? (for info I have the JarDesign, but not flown to much with it)

I believe Peter's products using the QPAC FBW plugin should be comparable, but I don not own them, so can't say for sure...

I have the JArDesign too, but not installed.

The main differences, Peter's busses don't show curved flight path on ND, no take off calculations, no entry of arrival and departure runway.

You have to trade that in for a 3d flight office.

Indeed Ralf,

and I really prefer to wait for the Pro version of this already great QPAC A320, and have the additional features it already provides :-)
