February 13, 201610 yr Thanks for the info on the latest Garmin database! I found a file on the Garmin website called GTN_GDU620PCTrainer_6010 which I downloaded and unzipped. Unfortunately I did not find the AVTN_WW_DB.bin file in any of the subfolders. Maybe I am not looking in the right place. Would someone please provide a link to the correct update location? Thanks! February 13, 201610 yr If you download a copy of that latest Trainer, and open up the zip file (without actually installing the trainer!) you should find the "db" folder and there you can make a copy of the AVTN_WW_DB.bin file. Flight1 does NOT support this, but if you go to ProgramData\Garmin\GTN Trainer\db, you will find the same file. Rename it as a backup by adding .off to the file name, and copy the new bin file there.. In fact, you can use ALL included databases (there are 6 but only three seem to have been updated). I will post an instruction later on how to do this exactly: I deleted the original files and only have the renamed files here so I am redownloading the trainer (which takes a looooooong time) in order to give exact and proper instructions. You have the correct file, Airbus, but you need to rename two files! So it is correct that you couldn't find AVTN_WW_DB.bin. For those who don't know this yet: you have to unzip GTN_GDU620PCTrainer_6010 and DO NOT INSTALL IT!!! Open the unzipped folder and go to Trainer\CommonAppdata\Garmin\GTN Trainer Data\DB. You will see six files there. Two of them have to be renamed. bmap.bin card safetaxi.bin terrain.odb TERRAIN.TDB > rename to 006-D2659-00.dat worldwide.bin > rename to AVTN_WW_DB.bin Go to C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GTN Trainer\db and make a backup of all the files you see there. You may also see a file called card2 which isn't in the new download: do make a backup of it and then just leave it there! Then copy the 6 new files into the folder, overwriting everything. You can of course also only copy AVTN_WW_DB.bin if you want to. The following list shows which files have changed compared to my original install after copying all 6 database files: SW Version 5.13.0 Lite GPS Version F1 1.13 Navigation 1504 > 1513 Basemap 5.12 Obstacle 15B2 > 15B7 Terrain 15T1 SafeTaxi 15S2 > 15S7 FliteCharts 1504 Take note that Flight 1 does NOT support this!!! So don't go to them asking for help if something goes wrong with all this. However, I've been flying with all these new files for over a week now and didn't encounter a single problem.
February 13, 201610 yr Card file is FliteCharts airac 1513 - I don't use those so I don't care either way disclaimer: Flight1 will probably eventually support version 6 so it's best to just let them do it and not use these files | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
