What's your day job?

Recommended Posts

Retired Chiropractor and Acupuncturist, just over 2 years now. I've been flight simming since my Commodore Amiga days. Now I have a magnificent full size Learjet 45 cockpit to keep me occupied. I built a purpose built 'hangar' to house it, out in a paddock.

When the wife unfurls her infinite list of jobs, she know where to find me............................unfortunately.

I'm a Travesti during most of the day...

I've been doing it since more than 25 yrs after a teaching assistant career at a Portuguese university.

My specialization is IT: I wake up in the morning, take my coffee and then take some time dressing the clothes of an IT specialist...

People say they like me, but I know age is playing it's tricks, and I can no longer be so versatile as I was some 10 yrs ago...

Even while working in the IT scenery I have my mind in the skies ... I wanted to become an airline pilot and / or an astronomer... Long go those dreams...

When I take my IT clothes off at the end of the day, after taking a shower to wash away any bugs, I then used to seat at the desktop and, again, pretend I was something I was not - a pilot !  Seating in front of a PC, holding a joystick and dancing on rudder pedals, using a throttle quad, shooting approaches, or even playing air war....

Travesti life, not god not bad... it's what it is...

I am retired military, having served 28 years in the U.S. Army, Light Infantry. I retired in 2018, and now I am just enjoying life more. I now have tons of time for flight simming, travelling, camping, skiing and exploring out of the way places in my Jeep. I have been simming since before I enlisted back in 1989, and during my military career there were long periods where I was out in the 'field' training or deployed around the globe that kept me from flight simming. Now, I am making up for lost time. Life in the Light Infantry was no picnic, but I got to travel to some interesting places over the years and had many great and interesting experiences that you would normally only see in movies or in a video game. Of course, in real life, things are a bit different then how they are portrayed in the movies/video game industry. Lots of harsh, rough times in austere environments, but I would not trade any of it, as it really has adjusted my appreciation about life and experience. After all those 28 years and my share of combat, I am blessed to be able to now enjoy life in a much safer manner. Life is good 🙂

Cheers!

An author, have written nine books, mostly about religious intertextuality, ancient near east religions, and "Abrahamic traditions". Also a teacher for more than 16 years. Flew my first plane in Flight Sim in 2002, had a break until 2010, got burnt out in 2018 (I did what I could to make FSX pretty) and switched to Xplane 11 (only for the helicopters) and just started weeks ago with MSFS.

I was a reviewer, if you read B 52 FSX review on Flightsim.com, that's about it.  I wrote MLADG Mig 15-17 review for Xplane 11 too. Wrote Aerosoft Airbus review and Captain Sim 737 Classic for Airliner World Indonesia magazine, and several other FSX reviews. I was also a junior editor in an aviation magazine in Indonesia (2013-2016), run by a Garuda Indonesia pilot. I also wrote for ILMU TERBANG, a blog run by Qatar Airways Pilot.

Currently writing about the Pentateuch in the light of Quran, and it has been more than 4 months and it is a demanding task. Probaby will be published this year.
