June 26, 20169 yr What if we are going to be thrown a shocker and PMDG picked up Next Level Simulations's A380!!!??? :-O Damian Jez "The secrets of this earth are not for all men to see, but only for those who will seek them" -Ayn Rand, from the novel Anthem.
June 26, 20169 yr What if we are going to be thrown a shocker and PMDG picked up Next Level Simulations's A380!!!??? :-O Wouldn't buy it. There are only a handful of airports in the world capable of handling the A380. It just wouldn't be that fun to me. I also feel that a lot of the avionics in the aircraft wouldn't be very realistic. Same as with the 787. For example, on the MFD, the A380 and 787 are able to overlay airport diagrams among other things, that PMDG won't be able to provide. If PMDG, can't do the aircraft justice, I don't think they'd push it out. The 757/767 is pretty basic as far as glass goes. It's more on the lines of the 737 as far as information available for display except that it goes one step farther imo with EICAS messages. June 26, 20169 yr Considering the situation, I'm not pretty sure we will see a complete new aircraft before long. The whole 747 series has not been released yet. There are many projects that could come before a new aircraft (suppositions): _ B737 SP ? _ B777-200ER ? _ Porting the B737, B777, B747 to xplane? _ Then if PMDG was getting that way, by the time they would finish, the B737 Max and the B777 Max would become possible new projects... So only with the B737, B777 and B747, PMDG would be busy for the next ten years! Romain Roux Avec l'avion, nous avons inventé la ligne droite. St Exupéry, Terre des hommes.
November 3, 20169 yr Try the FF767 for X-plane. its very good! True - but the sounds are pretty bad. I love it though - especially in the QANTAS colours, ahh the memories... It puts their 757 to shame though. FF have a very good X-Plane 10 757 and 767. If you are thinking DC6, then there is no reason not to buy X-Plane. In fact, there are 5 good reasons. 1) DC6 2) IXEG 737 3) FF 767 4) FF757 5) X-Plane 10 is very affordable compared to P3D. The 757 isn't really that good in my opinion - it has been put to shame by the 767 (but the sounds aren't really that great in my opinion). I would pay a lot to see a 757/767 flying in P3D/X-Plane (You guys have already hinted at making a NG v3 and adding X-Plne functionality which I am drooling to see ) in the PMDG colours, but, PMDG always have an aircraft planned out ahead (As Kyle said previously) and its always excellent (I almost wrote good - what a disservice that would've been to you!) as we have come to expect from you.
November 3, 20169 yr To tell yo the truth I am not a big fan of glass myself Well, you are pretty much out of luck! What about dials in those 707, 727's and DC6's? They are made of glass aren't they ? I think the Aerosoft Airbus is great. Just not all the systems are fully simulated like PMDG would have done. I've also heard a bit of complaining about the flight dynamics. But personally, it nicely fills the purpose when I want to fly a Bus. I would be extremely disappointed if PMDG announced the A320 as their next project. No doubt I would buy it, but it wouldn't fill a void in the hangar for me. With the relationship PMDG has with Boeing - that is not going to happen - especially with FSLabs releasing their remarkable A320 which simulates stuff at the level of PMDG and have the intent to expand their lineup to include more and more airbuses in the near future. PMDG and Boeing are identical in a sense - the big difference is that one makes planes that fly at 41000 feet above you and the other makes ones you can fly on your computer!
November 3, 20169 yr FF is releasing the 757v2 soon. There will be a very nice 757/767 offering for us XPlane folks. Antoine Bidartarra
November 3, 20169 yr As a 757/767 pilot, I would love if PMDG took that project on. The LevelD is long in the tooth and I have found a few inacuracies (or perhaps just FS limitations for which workarounds hadn't been discovered at the time) with it. But it's still a good option until someone releases a new one. Fingers crossed! Sean Wood
