Depends on the Win10 version you have.  

 

To determine your current Win10 version type "System Info" in the search box and click on the "system information" result item.  If you have 1607 then 2nd line down next to Version: you should see 10.0.14393 if you the latest 1607 update.

Thanks for your response.I have Windows 10 Home version 10.0.10586 Build 10586. On rereading your post I believe that Windows Anniversary Edition may be only for the Enterprise Edition and that I may have the most up to date Home Version. Am I correct in that assumption?

No, the Enterprise release was actually a little later than Home/Pro version ... your 10586 build is 1511 (older), so you don't have the Anniversary 1607 update yet.

I did the update from the Update in settings. It downloaded but did not install. I did it a second time & then it installed. So, just try & try again..

Easy to tell when it has installed. When you click the start button, All Programs are listed, instead of clicking the little icon.

 

 

4.  After running my P3D test loop, Fraps time frame data 50% fewer long frames (>40ms) - this was unexpected - unfortunately there were two variants, nVidia 368.81 and Win10 1607 compared to my prior test results

For those who use a WebCam, you might want to check this out. It was done intentionally... crazy.  Thankfully, there is a fix (at the bottom).

 

Microsoft is supposed to have a fix out sometime in September.

Some other issues have been reported also ... at this time I'd agree, it might be better to wait for Microsoft to fix their fixes.

I updated contrary to my earlier post. So far no issues but again, this is strictly a flight sim computer. Nothing else. All my sim related hardware worked as before.

Sorry to butt in here - don't know where else to go to get an answer!

 

I'm just now getting back into X-Plane 10 and I was going to upgrade my W8.1 to W10, but I heard over a year ago that XP would not work properly.  Has this been fixed and should I go ahead with the W10 upgrade?

No problems with XPlane10 and Win10 on my system ... Xplane10 is OpenGL based, it may use DirectX for audio (can't remember) just need good OGL drivers from nVidia or AMD.
