FSX: FSL A320

Featured Replies

Nuno, even €50 would probably be fair - after all I payed a LOT twice for the PMDG 777....

Maybe one of these days we can meet here at LPPT :-) Bring your laptop!  I'll show you PSX!

It's still a LOT of money. Remember it's 5 years but they still sell thousands of copies of the exact same software. Balance.

My laptop is a humble i5 with Intel graphics, i don't think it can 'run' anything, but a meeting in LPPT would be nice for sure, to discuss a few ideas regarding flight simulators :)

The FSL version is more of a study sim aircraft rather than what Aerosoft version is. The Aerosoft version is geared to what a pilot will most likely encounter on a regular flight while this version m

  • Not sure how 12fps is even flyable!

Looks great. Looking forward to the P3D version

Well, on the new Aerosoft Tegel, with FTX Global, Vector and Mesh going on in the surrounding, I am pretty happy with fps around 14. That's a very dense and demanding area, scenery wise.

I'd say, I see a tad more fps in the Aerosoft Airbus, but nothing dramatic.

Once in the air, the fps are stable at around 18-22 fps on departure, and at around 24-30 during further climb and cruise. (all in the VC)

And even though, you won't see much of the failure, wear and tear side of things during normal operation, the completeness of the systems and displays, and the superb texturing and sound, make the Aerosoft Airbus feel rather "lite". Just my opinion though.

This addon gives you a highly immersive simming experience, the closest I got yet, compared to the sessions I had in the Airbus Full Flight Sim at Lufthansa Flight Training in Frankfurt.

Great shots. I can't wait to fly this bird in P3D. :)

May I ask you for a picture?

Thanks! Sure, go ahead! ;-)

Can you do a Flaps 1+F Wingview Picture?  Like this:

I'll do that for you, buddy! ;-)

I'll have one hour time very soon, and I'll spend that in the new Airbus!!! ;-)

Oh boy... I wan't too

Enjoy your flights with the new bird. I'm sure it is awesome to fly with this beauty.

Thank you for doing that :)

That's good to know, Rudi. Even though I am not one of your "normal" customers (in the sense that I do not tend to use 90% of the systems functionality when flying this type of aircraft), I am always prepared to pay good money for the best simulation of absolutely everything (and that means stuff like the flight model, 3D model, sounds, VC, textures etc). That is why I purchased the PMDG 737 NGX, and I have never been disappointed with that. It would be nice to have a top quality equivalent Airbus in my collection, even if I only use it for low level VFR flights!

I'm not sure that you're NOT a "normal" customer...I'm similar in my approach to the hobby. While I probably won't use half of the functionality of the FSL A320X, I wouldn't want to fly any other Airbus, given its PMDG-level fidelity and immersive sounds, effects, flight model, etc. She's a terrific simulation....but then I'm biased, having had the privilege of beta testing her over the past year or more.

Would be curious to know how the framerate is using other planes (like the NGX), all other things being equal.

It's a bit more FPS intensive than the NGX, IMHO, but not dramatically. Roughly on par with the PMDG 777, and if one tempers their inclination to apply high settings of autogen, AI planes, scenery, etc, the experience is smooth and very satisfying. This is on my machine, a i5-2500K running at 4.4GHz, 16 GB RAM, nVidia 980.

The PMDG 737 NGX runs very smooth on my PC (even at large detailed airports with lots of AI planes), so the FSL Airbus A320 would probably be OK for me. I will need to wait for the P3D version, but I am in no rush. I may even make it a Christmas present for myself (assuming the P3D version is out by then).
