When P3D moves to 64-bit any simulator will not survive.

As far as I see it : a 64 bit P3D needs a new and modern engine to start with icw DX12 ( less work for the cpu / more work for the gpu ).

If it is like the current 32 bit version and is "only" 64 bit than OOMs might be gone ( for the minority that are sufferig from it ) but the framerate/smoothness issues will appear again...

No OOMs sure, more FPS...? I doubt it. ;)

But that is easier managed than the OOM problem.

The connection between performance and graphpics fidelity is clear to anyone who has even the faintest idea about computers and gaming in particular.

It's easier to tweak your graphic settings to achieve higher fluidity than it is to reduce the VAS imprint.

I can understand the benefits of no OOM with a 64 bit sim,but surely this cannot be the only benefit of running a 64 bit sim,but what else should a 64 bit sim improve for us?,also what issues could it bring to the table

Are you aware that Nike & Adidas exist, Ford & Chevrolet and i could go forever? People have just different opinions, priorities, tastes when evaluating products.
Sure, but it takes you 30 sec tops to wear a pair, yes?  Or I hope you drive one car at the time, and the car doesn't ask you to reboot every time you step in?

The reason why I will eventually use only one sim is due to the upkeep of updates, add-ons etc.  If you only stick with default sim, fine, but the moment add-ons come on board, the work begins.  Currently I have P3D, FSX-SE and XP, by the end of the year only one will remain (or I quit this hobby altogether).  As a side note, I bought SkyMaxxPro 3 for XP10, I still have not installed it yet, and now the publisher is about to release version 4  .  Money and time are limiting factors, hence many will have only one sim platform.  Yet we keep cursing, because there are problems with each and everyone of them.

As long as the user screams for more and more fancy features of add ons -see FSDT´s latest KMEM, a great product it runs even with UT2 ai really good. But why do we need to have a usable tower? Cause it is a nice fancy feature!!!! as long will problems like OOM´s, low FPS, blurry textures, micro stutters etc. arise.

64bit will cure the symptoms but not the disease. The disease of not being satisfied with what someone has or not has. We as the user keep the system of the FS product market and the related hardware market up and running.

Another example is the latest nVidia driver. People claim it to be THE driver for P3D. Now what is the consequence of this great news? Everybody will install it and be happy with what they see but curious what happens if they crank up the settings a bit more bit more just to see if it works. Maybe it does work they´ll be even more happy but will be most probably unhappy if the system breaks down.

So it will be with P3D64. Everybody will be happy with OOM´less flight but will face low FPS, blurry textures, micro stutters etc again. The question was, is and will ever be, is the user satisfied and happy with a working game/sim or does he want more and more....

Here are my opinions:

P3D 64-bit will happen sometime. Or not.

Stuff will happen when P3D is 64-bit. Maybe lots of stuff. Maybe just little stuff.

Stuff will also happen with other sims. Or maybe not.

But that's just, like, my opinion. Others have other opinions.

Also, I like burritos.
