Ok just installed the A320X into my P3D install.

 

Let me preface by saying I don't have the latest and greatest computer.  i2500K @ 4.7.  GTX970, pretty slow/old RAM.

 

ORBX Global, Vector and LC installed (Vector at very reasonable settings for jets).  I pretty much follow the P3D guide posted here.

 

I started up at Fly Tampa Toronto which for me (and many others) is a VAS killing OOM machine.  I have toned it down as much as I can.

 

AS2016 / ASCA Weather - Real weather today cloudy light rain.

 

 

Installed standared 2048 textures in the A320X installer. Same as my FSX install.

 

OK started on runway 05 and taxied to the other runway, past all terminal.

 

Here are the results.

All above without AI.  I added in AI - 10% MyTrafficProfessional.  very slight drop in VAS.

 

 

Took off and flew around, pretty smooth at least for my rig,   After flying for 20 min, VAS now 497.

 

 

My guess is this aircraft will be able to make it to another payware airport, maybe not I will have to try this weekend when I have time and will report back.

 

EDIT - My LOD is 4.5 which is my normal jets setting.

Mark - if you could live with Orbx Vector disabled when flying the A320-X, I bet you could add 10-15% to those figures.   There's been a lot of talk about the impact of Vector with this bird, over on the FSL forums.   I deactivated it (temporarily, using Scenery Config Editor) and saw a little under 15% improvement.

 

No issues with Global or OpenLC, but Vector is a resource hog.

Well here you go.  Same settings only this time at UK2000 EGLL.  Frames 26 and VAS remaining 1043.  Maybe its a Fly Tampa problem.

Wow... that's much worse than I'm seeing in my beta testing of the PMDG 744.

Very sad fact that means "no purchase" for me. Hope 64-bit would solve the issue.  

So just did a quick flight from UK2000 EGLL to UK2000 EGKK, perfectly fine flight, very smooth FPS 26 - 28 and VAS remaining never dipped below 950.

Could you tell us a bit about the options in the airplane? Like, how do you load fuel and cargo/pax? Is it in the fmc, outside sim application etc? Do you navigate options like the options in the fmc in the new type pmdg line? Are there many options?

Fuel and Cargo are loaded via the FMC/MCDU. Options are also in the MCDU for doors, ground support, display settings etc.

Yes it is a scenery issue, the Fly Tampa Toronto airport is a disaster when it comes to VAS.

Flight from Fly Tampa CYYZ to Fly Tampa CYUL.  Totally flyable very nice flight.
