I'm new to Prepar3d. Just installed today with a fairly robust computer (4790 @ 4.9 ghz, two 1080 GTX's, 16 GB DDR3) Fairly modest settings, can get frames above 22fps. I was thinking this was going to be awesome, but I'm getting far more amazing performance from FSX. What do I need to do do bump up to a solid 60 FPS? Edit: Just lowered all graphical settings, cannot get FPS above 30 no matter what.

The thing that stuck out to me the most after my first flight is the autogen, wow is it ever impressive when turned all the way up!  I can't wait to see it once  I get UTX and Open LC installed, not to mention Orbx regions.

I was under the impression Prepar3d was sli enabled? I'm down to 13 FPS with second card disabled.

Can you explain in a little more detail, I don't understand how to get the RA Turbine Duke I have installed in P3Dv3 working in the new P3Dv4 separate install?

Thanks in advance

Joe

I add this to effects.cfg

[Entry.1]
PATH=D:\Addons\RealAir\RealAir Duke Turbine V2\Effects
TITLE=RealAir Turbine Duke V2
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true
[Entry.2]
PATH=D:\Addons\RealAir\Legacy V2 P3D3\Effects
TITLE=RealAir Legacy V2 P3D3
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true
[Entry.3]
PATH=D:\Addons\RealAir\Duke\Effects
TITLE=RealAir Duke
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true

and this to simobjects.cfg

[Entry.10]
PATH=D:\Addons\RealAir\RealAir Duke Turbine V2\SimObjects\Airplanes
TITLE=RealAir Turbine Duke V2
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true
[Entry.11]
PATH=D:\Addons\RealAir\Legacy V2 P3D3\SimObjects\Airplanes
TITLE=RealAir Lancair Legacy V2
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true
[Entry.12]
PATH=D:\Addons\RealAir\Duke\SimObjects\Airplanes
TITLE=RealAir Duke
ACTIVE=true
REQUIRED=true

Thats it.

For make all sounds work, it needs new 64bit  dsd_fsx_xml_sound gauge from Dough Dawson

Currently located in panel folder... RASLegacy_Sound_V2.gau, RASDukeTv2_Sound.gau and RASDuke_Sound.gau for piston duke. For piston duke that file is located in gauge folder in root of sim, but can be moved into panel folder. All are same gauge mentioned above

Just installed a new Gigabyte 1080 G1 Gaming today for this special release of V4. And holy moly you all are correct. The new autogen draw distance is very impressive. No more texture loading popping in and out. Very impressed so far with the performance. All sliders to the right!

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

What is 'auto get'?

It's how my iPad's autocorrect spells autogen :)

I've found performance to be similar to v3. London is still the frame rate killer and the fact I can really crank up the autogen just feeds my bad habits :)

My setup,

4k resolution (65 inch samsung tv :))

1080ti

2600k overclocked 4,5Ghz

16Gb memory

KLAX default start (meaning select KLAX with no add ons, all sliders maxed)

average vent from 12-19 to 18-25.

Biggest difference for me:

*Stutters completely gone (for me that is...YES YES YES ) and autogen goes as far as I always wanted it to be.

*Will I dial things back to get it to an average above 30fps...yes but this get´s a highly recommended from me.

*Below 30fps is semi slide show-y but without stutters it´s just so much much better.
