Can someone explain editvoicepacks for me?

Featured Replies

HI guys, I've read the description and I know it replaces default ATC files correct?   Can someone tell me what else it does and how it enhances the sim?  Is it a must have?

Thanks Jason

This is the 'about page'.  If you are going to use the built in ATC, you might want this.  I have just started to try it out.  There is a free trial period.

To my joy, the single greatest feature is the voice acceleration. Finally people are 'talking' at normal speed! I've been using EVP for years, and have been extremely pleased with its addition to the sense of reality...

I bought it a week ago. The voice acceleration, the personalization  of actual airlines instead of 'speedbird' according to your AI. Lot's of nice features.

 Ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb, 7900XTX 24gb

Been using it for years. Good program. It will also add many missing airlines to your airlines.cfg file.

Aside from adding airline names, you can also add your own modifications such as "Block Island Traffic" instead of Kilo Bravo India Delta traffic.

There are many mods you can download, but the one feature that I found excellent is the find “Missing Telephony Designators” feature. This allows you to easily find the aircraft and then you can add the correct atc_airline=.

This is a must have addon if you use default ATC in FSX or P3D.

Late reply here.  The voice acceleration is the best part for me too.  I'm busy maneuvering, changing heading and altitude and can't get a word in edgewise ......  until edit voice pack that is.

speedbird is the callsign used by british airways, are you saying it removes that?? seems like an odd choice if they are trying to make it more realistic.

I had no idea the latest version was now a payware product.

I used to use the freeware version on my previous FSX build and never installed it to me newer build. I see that the older free version is still available but not supported any longer, which brings me to this question. What does the new payware version do that the older free version doesn't and is it worth paying for the newer version?

Not sure what the payware version does beyond provide for support and updates, which there have been a few minor as of late.

However, it's only EUR 12.50, which is less than I would have sent the author as a donation.. :-)

So yes, IMHO it's worth the cost.
