What a great problem!:) If enough of us "ask" PMDG to create an SDK, then we can have the best of both! Bob...

I know it's too early, but has anyone used FS2Crew in conjuction with small home cockpit hardware?I mean, if FS2Crew is changing systems status or switches and stuff, that you have not changed in the hardware (i.e. overhead or MCP), the hardware is leading so the changes made by FS2Crew will be undone! What kind of consequences this has to the FS2Crew operation? And VV, what consequences FS2Crew might have with your hardware control. Thanks for adv.George DorkofikisAthens, Hellashttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.png

Hello George,FS2Crew uses the LVLD SDK to interface with the 767. In theory, I don't see a problem given that FS2Crew and your home cockpit would be communicating through the same LVLDSDK.dll.FS2Crew comes with a 30 day money back gaurantee, so you can try it out risk free. All the best,Bryan

What about the radios? Does the FO handle them?

Hello Max,The FS2Crew FO does pretty well everything he would do in real life (FS2Crew 767 is modeled on real-world SOPs used by Capt Barrington), but talking to ATC is not one of them.As a group, FS2Crew users tend to be a little more advanced and 'hard core' than the average user, and they generally would use Radar Contact or VATSIM over the default MS ATC.Without an SDK from Radar Contact, there is no way to interface with the Radar Contact ATC system. VATSIM is obviously not possible because you're dealing with real people. All the best,Bryan

Does the Level D version of FS2Crew work with the Level D's save function? In other words, will FS2Crew be where you left it when you reload a saved flight?ricardo

Hello Ricardo,Yes, you can create and use Saved Situation files within certain parameters. You can, for example, create a saved situation file for just prior to push and start (if you want to basically get up and running right away). You can create a saved start file for being lined-up on the runway for takeoff. And you can also create a saved start file for the Cruise portion of the flight.Hope that helps,Bryan

That's correct, you will never fly anything else

Hello Tord,"Fewer things to do personally" FS2Crew 767 is a technically very accurate simulation of the way things are done in the real-world of 767 ops.Capt David Barrington, who flies a 767 out of the UK, was very helpful in ensuring that FS2Crew 767 models it the way it's really done in the real world with regards to communicating with Engineering, Operations, the FAs, the FO, the Start Crew, etc.So that's the price you pay for realism I guess Yes, FS2Crew 767 comes with a 30 day money back refund policy in accordance with Flight1 practices.I thought about doing a demo version, but the 30 day money back system is just as good. Cheers,Bryan

Dave, whilst FDC is very good in it's own right, FS2Crew is far more accurate when it comes to the 767. I don't think you can say one is better nor worse because they're designed to do different things.FDC works with a broad range of airplane, and FS2Crew LDS Ed is specific to the 767, so you have more specific tasks to complete. You have bigger range of specific checklists (Not generic ones such as FDC. Before start/after start/before takeoff/after takeoff/descent etc. The list goes on.

Cheers,

As the developer I am biased of course, but I agree with John's view.FS2Crew is in its own category. There are other programs out there are pretty good too in their own way, but at the end of the day you're comparing apples and oranges.FS2Crew 767 was custom programmed from scratch to specific to the Level-D 767, and to model procedures used by real 767 pilots. Capt David Barrington was our chief consultant, and he went over the program with a fine tooth comb to make sure every tiny detail was right and appropriate to the real world of 767 flying with respect to all the scans, flows, crew interactions, calls, bird strike situations, you name it.To get the kind of detail FS2Crew aims to achieve, we have to do custom versions from scratch for each plane. That's was makes FS2Crew unique, and that's what makes it very difficult to judge FS2Crew against other products.Hope that helps,Bryan

Hi Bryan,Yeah, I did the tutorial flight yesterday and the FO sure had his hands full on the approach. I was waay above the glideslope and while it got busy I still basically only had to concentrate on flying the plane while the FO handled all the dangly bits. ;) Great fun!
