November 7, 20178 yr Author UA747..., nice. Flightaware gives M as arrival gate. My guess is she will be pulling in the Main Terminal Gate 13, which has dual jetways. Most UA birds dock on the Diamond Head Concourse but also Main Gates 12 and 13. Dan Downs KCRP
November 8, 20178 yr I emailed this video to Cpt. Mike Ray and below was his response: "Ewww ... OUCH!!! It was a bitter sweet youtube video to watch my very own 747-400 airplane being retired. I have actually been retired 18 years, so it was no surprise ... it was a "SHOCK"!" The 747 in this video is the actual aircraft that Cpt. Mike Ray, the famous author http://utem.com/, commanded for years. I thought many here might be interested in that. November 8, 20178 yr There she is, treated with a Hawaiian Lei , looking a bit tired but also quite pleased after her last flight. I hope she's getting a nice retirement home in a museum and doesn't have to endure the suffocating heat of the Mojave desert *sniff* Whoever is cutting onions here, stop it!!!
November 9, 20178 yr Ohh man, learning to fly the QOTSII and they are all being retired in real life! Wait a minute: If everybody is moving to EWB airplanes, i wonder what about PMDG? Airbus A350 might be next? Well, i see there is a Dreamliner flying already(QW) so.... A380, A350 left... Thanks for your work Nick, i wholeheartedly recommend this livery I did the flight yesterday, including diversion from SID for a Golden Gate Bridge flyby and custom "island tour" approach into PHNL RWY08L, brilliant experience. I was following the original OFP to the number, including real ZFW and fuel load. Its fascinating how close the PMDG 747 came to the real numbers, just shows the quality of this PMDG product. Here's the original OFP:
