November 23, 20178 yr So I'm looking to get a decent business jet for P3Dv4. I bought the Carenado E50P Phenom 100 a few months back, and while it seems like a really nice jet, I have to say, the whole Garmin G1000 system confuses the hell out of me. I'd like something a bit more....well, easier to use. I know people will say that the G1000 is very straightforward, but I'm a complete word not allowed so no, it's not straightforward for me. These are the other 3 offerings from Carenado that might fit the bill: S550 Citation II 390 Premier 1A 525A Citation CJ2 Of course, I'm sure I'm not just limited to Carenado. Any help or advice is appreciated from anyone with experience. Best regards, Neal McCullough

November 23, 20178 yr I'm really liking the Carenado Phenom 300 with Bert's GTN750 mod. Ryan's suggestion is a very good choice: the Xtreme Prototype GLJ 25. Wayne KlocknerUnited Virtual
November 23, 20178 yr Hi Folks, Dejavu ? The FlySimWare Lear is my absolute number one biz jet... It makes me smile every time I fly it... As stated by Ryan - now that the C550 has full GTN integration - I’m sorely tempted (sucker for straight wing biz jets) I may pick that one up myself... Regards, Scott

I made a mistake. I'll edit my first post. Thanks Ryan, I'll have a look at the GLJ 25. I'm definitely not necessarily set on Carenado, I'm open to all options. Best regards, Neal McCullough

I probably should have clarified, as well as not liking the G1000, I'd also like to avoid the GTN750 as well, for similar reasons. Best regards, Neal McCullough

Just like me. Sale should start within about 2 weeks, I think. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. The Garmin method of rotating and selecting knobs just doesn't appeal to me at all, so I'm thinking strongly about the Premier now. 15 minutes ago, Gregg_Seipp said: Just like me. Hi Neal, Just keep in mind - unless something has changed - any of Carenado’s navigation products are incapable of performing even some of the most basic of real world navigation excercises - such as a “Direct To” - so if you use any type of realistic ATC - it won’t work well... If you just fly canned flights from A to B without deviation - then it should be fine for you... 28 minutes ago, ryanbatcund said: Yeah please get it, maybe some day we'll see another exquisite paint from you hah! Hi Ryan, LOL - I appreciate your enthusiasm which might equate to motivation... We’ll see... I find that a good paint job can dramatically impact my opion of a model... Regards, Scott

November 23, 20178 yr The only way these Carenado jets work decent is with the GTN750 and Mr. Pieke's mods. The newly patched S550 being the exception (only need the GTN750).
November 23, 20178 yr Another enthusiastic vote for the Extreme Prototypes Lear. It's a 60's model without a G1000 or FMS, and only a rudimentary autopilot, which for me makes everything a lot simpler and easier to fly. The graphics are superb, especially the VC, and the aircraft is just about study level. Every single switch in the VC works. My favorite feature is a working 8 track tape player. This little jewel was actually invented by Bill Lear. It plays four tracks, with canned music already there, or as I've done, you can make four sound files of your choosing. Nothing like cruising at 40,000' listening to the Stones really loud. I can't recommend this aircraft too much. It's the best business jet I've flown in the last 9 years. Forever indebted to the late Michael Greenblatt of FSGS.
