April 14, 200620 yr Noticed that Gatwick has been released. Can try before you buy.Frame rates are the biggest concern with high detail airports, so there is a list of frame rates based on data from BETA testers at the site. The site and FS2004 FRAME RATE TABLE Using Gatwick Pro Scenery can be foundhttp://www.s114327879.websitehome.co.uk/gatwickpro/http://www.s114327879.websitehome.co.uk/gatwickpro/tips.htm Carl Carl PC AMD Ryzen R7-5700G (8-Core) processor), AMD Radeon RX 6600 Graphics 8GB/ 2TB HD + 500GB SSD, 16GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, Win11 _____________________________________________________________________________________
April 14, 200620 yr I have already tested the product! First impressions? Looks great, includes a lot of airport goodies (like active air gates, ground service and a lot of animation around)plus the framerates are realy good (regardless of my full AI traffic, all sliders to the right and hard weather). I think I will buy it soon, maybe tonight? Thanks for Gatwick Pro, Gary! Now time for Manchester Pro... ;)Best regards,Rafal
April 14, 200620 yr I hope you all enjoy it as much as we all enjoyed testing it, it really is a beautiful piece of art.All the best and smooth landingsRichard
April 14, 200620 yr Well, the included "test" seems a bit murky. Am I missing something? At least on my end, I'm not seeing comparative numbers in relation to OSS's Gatwick scenery. Secondly, tests with "default" aircraft and "clear weather" - well, I don't know about that. What happens to the frame rates when you throw in a complex addon like PMDG's 747 series, use Active Sky, highest quality cloud textures, etc.?ricardo
April 14, 200620 yr Frames stayed the same for me when I tested it with addons and weather programmes.Richard
April 14, 200620 yr Runs great for me. I've got every gate rammed with Custom AI so I am impressed with the frames! Nice job. Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU
April 15, 200620 yr I see no significant difference in FPS between the Original UK2000 London Airports Version and the new Gatwick Pro. And it certainly does look good!Ed GreenKCLThttp://www.panelshop.com/DEV.jpghttp://www.oncourse-software.co.uk/forum_images/fdc_beta.jpg
April 15, 200620 yr "The central area of Gatwick can reduce frame rate while taxing, especially if you have lots of AI. My Personal preference is to taxi in Spot mode, looking down at a 45
April 15, 200620 yr Author This is a good airport scenary IMO. IS it as good as Fly Tampa's KSEA? Nope... but its better than Fly Tampa's KSAN and maybe nearly as good as Fly Tampa's KSFO.The only issue I have with it is.. their scenary objects ..They have a lot all over the place... comes visible only at the very last minute... Thats very distracting. It just keeps poping in front of you like 50-100 yards. The approach the land is very nice... lots of cars and a train. This is not really an issue..but a suggestion for them.. When approaching to land on 26L, there is a parking lot (phtoscenary). It would be cool to have 3d cars like "Flight Scenary" KPVD has.QUESTIoN:Where do I get Approach plates for Gatwick, London city airport and Heathrow?Could some please give me a web link or PM me so I could give them my e-mail addy if they have a soft copy of approach plates for london or western Europe. Would appreciate it very much.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
April 15, 200620 yr I know in the configuration menu somewhere you can change the distance where scenery pops up to an extent.
April 16, 200620 yr Author >I know in the configuration menu somewhere you can change the>distance where scenery pops up to an extent.>>Oh really! Well.. Now, I got to go dig into that ...then its very good.Guess what I found another goodie about this airport. The run way lights are not visibile when you are not aligned with the runway.AWESOME.... Thats a great great fix.I was flying in real weather and it was all fogged up... and trying to search for the airport was not easy... the lights would have spoilt it... and in this case, it didn't. Until the time I was aligned I couldn't see the runway approach lights.Wish.. Microsoft would fix that with all their runway lights in FSX.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
April 16, 200620 yr I've tried it now and I'm certainly getting slightly better frames and improved smothness with it than the old Gary version of Gatwick. I can heartily recommend it.
