FS9 Navaids update

Featured Replies

Thanks domvc10 for this heads-up. I know this ressource and I consider it one of the most useful resources for making FS9 a valuable simulator even for today.

I use this every month - but keep your files up to date; I'm sure that this will end in the not too distant future. Love our sim though we do, we are dinosaurs.

I hope it doesn't end soon! But you never know you are quite right.  I thought I'd just share as the data in fs9 is pretty old if you're using the default.

Making a donation might also help keep it going

On Mr. Sors' website there are also other helpful tools, e.g. one for live engine telemetry. Nice, if you're tweaking flight dynamics.

just me sometimes reports errors with crashes? for example approaching in dublin. Uninstalled and everything works fine

I have crashes when using the intersections. So I uninstalled these.

This resource is invaluable for the likes of FS9 but as always be careful. Any add-on to FS9 can cause problems.....in fact I would go as far as to say, every add-on will cause problems. It only takes one tiny mistake in the programming/textures etc etc. Almost every scenery I have has not been properly checked for alphas/mips for example....and don't get me started on approaches.

The more complex the aircraft the more the likelihood there will be a problem.

Unfortunately I found the best way to keep your sim running as smooth as pie and as up-to-date as poss is to do it yourself.....and triple check everything.

This is exactly why you should be using NavDataPro.

You get what you pay for (or you don't).

Just a little off topic but quickly on the above, what is the best method/program to use to check these?

Not for me I use Navigraph. Two things here.

1, These are for complex aircraft that can use their databases.

They do not update the FS navdatabase which is what we are talking about here. An updated FS database is needed for FS flight planning and FSATC.

2. Just because you pay does not mean there are no bugs.

For all textures (aircraft, scenery etc) DXT3fixer or Alphasearcher (I use both)

You will find something needs fixing 99% of the time.

Fantastic thanks! DXTfixer I have and already use. Alphasearcher I didn't know about. I'll chase that one up now.
