Isn't it time to change the order?

Featured Replies

Since 'decades' the MS flightsim forum has been the first flightsim in the list of forums on AVSIM. It has loads of divisions too: 15! Underneath it comes P3D with only two sections. And then XP with 6 sections. And okay, finally we have Dovetails sim... I just had a look at the number of posts during the last 24 hours.

MS flightsim: 8 (6 in main forum, 2 in 2 others)

P3D: 33 (all in the main forum)

XP: 6 (4 in main forum, 2 in 1 other)

FSW: 1

So I was wondering... isn't it time to change the order and move P3D to the top of the list?

And while you're at it pls remove the ultra-long forum descriptions for P3D, which make it very tiresome to scroll down on mobile devices.

It is not time.

Keep it traditional

I'm with Matthew.  Keep it traditional.  The real world is changing too fast for me now...my penance for having lived too long.  AVSIM and Flightsim.com are the last bastions of normalcy that exist on the other side of my front door.

For all of the reasons above.  Is there something wrong with AVSIM?  You cannot find what you need?  Next month (or tomorrow) someone will say, time to put [Insert Forum Name Here] to [Insert Location Here].  I like suggestions for improving the site but this is not an improvement.  I'm not about ready to begin the slow destruction of the ever popular FSX and FSX-SE Forums.  Plus, moving the forums would require the approval of the CEO and the Board of Directors and I'm not going to spend a lot of time justifying a move below the P3D forums.  Not saying more as my comments will only be placed under a microscope over this weekend.  Tom Allensworth built this site and the forums, not me.  You will have to check with him if you want any changes made...

What you seem to be saying Jim, is that AVSIM is not a supermarket, who change stuff around just when you get to know where everything is. If it ain't broke etc.

The AVSim forum software allows any user to limit which forums are visible.

I would like to know how that is achieved. I've tried, but I still see ChasePain and XP posts.

No worries mate. As Jim said Tom built this over a long period of time and Microsoft Flight Simulator has always been the anchor for Flight Sim for many of us. FSX Forum still has 789,414 posts, more posts than any others and will for a very long time to come. Consider it like the 747-400, many great years of service and she isn't ready to roll over just yet
