Isn't it time to change the order?

Since 'decades' the MS flightsim forum has been the first flightsim in the list of forums on AVSIM. It has loads of divisions too: 15! Underneath it comes P3D with only two sections. And then XP with 6 sections. And okay, finally we have Dovetails sim... I just had a look at the number of posts during the last 24 hours.

MS flightsim: 8 (6 in main forum, 2 in 2 others)

P3D: 33 (all in the main forum)

XP: 6 (4 in main forum, 2 in 1 other)

FSW: 1

So I was wondering... isn't it time to change the order and move P3D to the top of the list?

Change, here?

Surely you jest.

The change is in the products, not in the way we think or organize ourselves!

Shutter the thought!

Kindest regards, and carry on! :)

hm i think the aerofly forum should be more present.

It's been asked about/mentioned previously. Who knows?

I think that it is about time to change....

Let's just have the two forums...Hangar Chat & P3d.

All these other sims are not worth the space.....

Hmmmm - posting just for fun and to solicit responses. Sounds like a good definition of trolling to me!  May have to ban you for a few weeks Jeroen for you to contemplate your actions.

This thread is the personification of what is wrong with these forums and this hobby as a whole.

It's sickening to see the amount groupthink in this thread.

If you find something sickening about this hobby then life must be very good for you. I can think of many real sickening things in this world but nothing in this forum or hobby come anywhere close to that.

It is not time.

FSX/P3D debate aside I feel that website navigation could be improved by introducing some alphabetical ordering to at least some of the sub-forum's content.

Two obvious targets are the Freeware Support and the Unofficial Commercial Support forums. Both of these are quite long and have no obvious logical order.

At the same time you could remove the pointless "The" from in front of half the listings, which just makes visual scanning harder.

Small points, but why not?

Well I do not see half of the forums as I have removed them from view,

If you were the Forums Admin here and you did what you suggested and someone who's not a Forums Admin came on the site and said, "I don't like this, I don't like that", etc., how would you feel?  We have over 220,000 members (of course not all active) and I can take some recommendations/suggestions that I may or may not consider but we cannot have everyone coming on board and telling us how to set up the site and run it and to fix this and to fix that.  It just does not work.  If you do not like AVSIM's structure, please visit another site.  I do not have time to respond to all of these hundreds of thousands (potentially) suggestions.  But, I will take a look at your suggestions and I may or may not make the suggestions.  I just think you are very upset over my curt comment.  It hit you the wrong way as you expected me to make major modifications or a major explanation on why not.  I have done that and this is an extension to all of my comments so far.  This is not an easy job.  I have personalities all over the world looking into my fishbowl and watching every move I make as a volunteer.  Sometimes I do good.  Sometimes not but I don't think there's anyone who can satisfy everyone.  If I made your changes, certainly, someone would arrive and tell me how bad it looks.  I agree with others, you can use the forum software to hide everything you do not want to see.  Just click on the blue boarders and click on the arrow on the right of the boarder to hide everything inside.  That will make your surfing here a bit faster but most members use the "unread content" feature and zip right to the forum and the topic/post.

You could always use the CTRL F function to search for a forum - that's just one option.

Sue, isn't that Latin for non cabroundum illiigitimi?

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Yes real life is very good to Me! Why wouldn't it be?

Being able to fly for a profession in the real world has allowed me to take of the rose colored glasses and see this hobby for what it is....just a hobby.

However, there are so many people thst have taken it upon themselves to spout off their opinions as scripture and others who will do whatever they can to silence others.

Once again...and your comment proves it, is thst groupthink on these forums is it's lifeblood.

Someone offers their opinion and everyone runs into the thread just to snuff it out. Not only that, people are jumping on the backs of others just to make their point heard even louder.

Like it or not, their are opinions on here thst do differ from the vast majority.

It's alarming....

But what do I know, I'm not in line with the masses so my opinion doesn't mean a thing.
