FlyTampa Copenhagen Kastrup

EKCH is the next airport getting the magical touch-up, now that KLAS is done. The old girl really needs some love at this point.

The airport looks fantastic already on my PC, so any improvements will be an added bonus. I hope that they sort out the "missing gate board information" problem, because the current "fix" is not fit for purpose (it results in sections of hedge appearing across taxiways at certain times).

I seem to have solved my problem regarding landings on 22L at FlyTampa Copenhagen Kastrup. I decided to modify the AFD file so that 22R and 04L are both set up for take offs, and 22L and 04R are both set up for landings. Now, some of you may say that this is how it needs to be done.....but I have never had to do that anywhere else. I have separate runways for landings and take offs at EGCC Manchester and EGLL London Heathrow, and the AFD runways do not need to be set like this for them to work properly.

Whatever the case, after making the necessary modifications to the AFD file for Copenhagen, I immediately noticed that all of the incoming AI planes were being directed to land on runway 22L. I then conducted a quick test flight in my own plane.....and for the first time ever at this airport, I was cleared to land on runway 22L. This had always been the selected landing runway in my flightplans, but the simulator was always clearing me to land on 22R before today.

That was my point when I asked if both ends were the same. That is how the old system works still in fsx and p3d. You must have both ends of the runway set to the same and if needed create a second afcad for different runway setups.

Please tell in detail how to make this modification for Copenhagen, and where do you find the AFD file,- and what on earth is an AFD file?

kindly regards

Good to hear. EHAM will get an overhaul too, just read it at FT forums.

Can you point me to the source of this information? I had a quick look on the FlyTampa forum, but I could not see anything related to this.

It's a modification that adds dynamic lighting, specific to FT EKCH.  They have a growing catalog of mods for a large number of other popular add-on airports as well.

  • 4 months later...

Yesterday i did a trip from EHAM to EKCH as IBK3541 in a NGX737 at afternoon/night and i was actually totally blown away about the performance and visuals even without Dynamic Lights  optimized for these two but on in the sim.

Amazing the lights is by default in those two
