Btw, the single center T/R shouldn't be very effective except in producing a lot of noise 😉 I don’t think you would find many Falcon pilots who would call the sound “annoying” (I work with over 20 of them). It’s hard to explain, but the sound is an import part of flying the aircraft with precision. Falcons require almost constant, but very slight, nose down trim adjustments as the aircraft is accelerating in the initial climb after takeoff - applied in short bursts. The pilot can tell, from the number of clicks they hear, just how much trim they have applied, even before they feel a change in the yoke force. The audible feedback becomes subconsciously ingrained in their flying technique. The Falcon horizontal stab is unusually powerful, aerodynamically speaking, and moves slower than on most other aircraft for that reason. On the actual aircraft it takes almost 30 seconds to run the trim from full nose down to full nose up. In the sim, the trim moves much too quickly - which may be a FSX/P3D limitation. Falcons in general, and the 50 in particular, are very smooth and responsive in pitch and roll - more so than most transport-category jet aircraft. The actual trim motion sound is a little “duller” quieter and less intrusive than what is heard in the sim. The single TR on the center engine is indeed less effective than what would be found on an aircraft with reversers on every engine, and probably not as necessary in any case, since Falcons have extremely efficient brakes - but it does help somewhat with deceleration on shorter runways. One advantage to the system is that since the reverse thrust is applied on the aircraft centerline, there is no danger of asymmetrical thrust caused by a failure scenario where a reverser deploys on one side, but not the other. That can be a major problem if it happens on a snowy or icy runway. If a Falcon is landing lightly loaded on a reasonable long runway, many pilots won’t bother deploying the TR at all. That's not a sim limitation and can be easily adjusted within the FDE. 2. That's why you initially only apply idle reverse. That way asymmetric reverse thrust should never be a problem. 3. Since most airports prohibit the use of reverse thrust (except for safety reasons) pilots usually only use idle reverse and if (at least) one engine isn't pushing, even idle reverse does save brakes.

November 16, 20187 yr @ryanbatcund they've made it even easier! In the aircraft mgmt pop-up you can select the desired pitch trim volume. Very useful indeed. A couple other points: Great FPS, Smooth flight model, steady taxi. AP is a bit tough to get a handle on, so two questions: 1) How do I get the HDG bug to track on the HSI? 2) The manual shows APP power settings. But no CLI/CRU power settings. @JRBarrett Do you know N1 on climb/cruise or where to find this info? Any help is appreciated!

I believe there is a bug causing heading select to be inop in the current Beta 2.5 version. Flysimware mentioned in a post yesterday that this will be fixed in Beta 2.6 According to a r/w Falcon 50 flight manual, N1 for Mach 0.80 cruise will typically be between 94 and 97 percent, depending on weight, altitude and outside air temperature. In the sim, probably the best bet would be to simply try maintaining a fixed speed in level flight by adjusting power, and see what N1 you end up with. Both batteries need to be “on”. The center bus tie switch needs to be horizontal (not vertical pointing at “Flight Normal”). This is the most likely reason the APU master won’t power on.
