Now I know why they aren't calling it "Flight Simulator 2007!" Thanks for the wit and good laugh. Joshua

I predict it will be released when ... Microsoft decide there's enough bugs knocked out of it to make it saleable. The patch (sorry service pack) will come around 5 or 6 months later, then the Vista update will come 3 weeks after Vista is released, then around 5 months after that there will be an SP2 to cure the bugs (sorry features) Vista caused.

In 1987 my friend's dog growled at a future FSX Beta Tester's dog, and from that I can conclude we will need a patch for FSX before January http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v615/Dar...0/ph34rblag.gifIn all seriousness, I want FSX to be released before November.--------------------------------------------------------------------MD83's Dictionary:Dirge: Slow and mournful music e.g. COLDPLAY's musicMaudlin: Effusively or Insincerely emotional e.g. COLDPLAY's musicWhiney: To make a high-pitched, protracted sound, as in pain, fear, supplication, or complaint e.g. COLDPLAY's musicDreary: Boring; dull e.g. COLDPLAY's music

Bill, I think you are being WAY over optimistic! I reckon 23 minutes, 4 and half seconds.Nope - the 13 DVD package will take at least six hours to install and you will need to insert four DVD's into your drive in the correct order to start the program. So you'll have a little time to get the new server(s) online. On second thought - the first complaint is already here. "I don't have a DVD drive"The answer - "Then why did you buy the danged software - didn't you read the label"The response - "Microsoft should know what hardware I have and make Flight Simulator to work on it."

>Bill, I think you are being WAY over optimistic! I reckon 23>minutes, 4 and half seconds. That reminds me; I guess we'll>have to go out and buy a new heavy duty server to put just the>MSFS forum on for the deluge right after release. Sigh... LOL! I'm including the following into my calculation:1) Time to return home from store.2) Time to rip off the plastic wrap.3) Time needed to install4) Time needed to update WinXP to SP2 as well as all the latest patches5) Time needed to realize that "things are quite the same and I'm totally lost!"6) Time needed to fire up the browser, get to the forum and let forth a scathing editorial blast.7) Time needed to "clean up the profanity" used in the aforementioned "scathing editorial blast."I also predict the most frequently heard questions/complaints will be:1) Why won't FSX run with my tweaked Windows 2000 OS?2) Why won't FSX run on my original WinXP OS?

Oooooo if it comes out on my b-day 10/07 I will be forever grateful. The first complaint will be "This is it? It looks like my fs9 setup with 2000 bucks worth of addons."

>1) Why won't FSX run with my tweaked Windows 2000 OS?Win98SE more likely. Win2000 users are more likely to be IT professionals, and more likely to actually read documentation and think for themselves instead of complain and whine.>2) Why won't FSX run on my original WinXP OS?Why won't FSX run on my 2004 iMac?

Or my IPOD.

Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.

:-lolNow THAT is funny.. "Email me if this date changes".. :)Talk about confidence in your "inside scoop"...

well you know I hate to see all this speculation. As a VAR myself I get NFR copies ahead of RTM and I already have the official release date but I just cant tell you...Its tough in the channel business :-)ciaoBill
