April 21, 20197 yr Got an e-mail from REX this morning with lots of info about this upcoming product, so I went to their site too and read about all the new features. Weather for P3Dv4+ has been taken several steps further again 😀 Read for yourselves : http://www.rexsimulations.com/envforce.html Best of it : it will work with all weather engines !  Edited April 21, 20197 yr by GSalden 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600  6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb  - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0 Â
April 21, 20197 yr Interesting - but... I'm still not totally clear on what it is/does... Best regards,--Anders Bermann-- ____________________Scandinavian VAPilot-ID: SAS2471
April 21, 20197 yr Author - changing cloud textures ( other cloud type ) while flying - changing sky textures while flying - you can change Shaders in a menu to make your Environment look as real as it can look on your setup - you can set cloud sizes and cloud coloring Tim or Reed probably can sum up more new features... I'm still not totally clear on what it is/does... It's basically a dynamic changing of shaders, which can change how the shadows look, how bright the sky is, how big clouds are, all sorts of parameters, to better fit the current environment you're flying and allow stuff like weather fronts to actually grow and shrink in front of you. It's also 'non-destructive' meaning it makes no permanent changes. So you can apply PTA, Envshade, TomatoShade etc. and then it'll just modify values on top of that until you shut down the sim, then it'll return to normal. That is my understanding of it, anyhow. April 21, 20197 yr The REX boys really do knock it out of the ballpark with their weather releases. This does look and sound amazing.
April 21, 20197 yr I have been waiting for this, I will now have to take the plunge and move to 4.5, I delayed while things get sorted. Now if symbol can get his pro lighting app sorted and released even better.😉 Edited April 21, 20197 yr by rjfry  Raymond Fry.

Looking at the GUI the Shaders have fixed values. You can also choose to use your own PTA/TomatoShade presets. Those 2 are able to include expressions ( formula that can change  the shader tweak according to precepation , time of day, force of the sun , altitude etc ). To do that you need to use min-max values. SF gives you do opprtunity to use those presets. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600  6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb  - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0 Â

It has an automatic mode that changes the shader settings during flight, with the help of P3D's new shader refresh function I assume, so no input is needed from the user. That can be used on top of fixed shader presets, as EF just tweaks what it needs, when it needs it. So it is either fixed or dynamically with expressions. Well.....just read about it and you can learn.... also he wrote: Fix = not min and max settings.....the opposite of fix is......dynamic. Regards, Marcus P.
