Must have aircraft (and other fun vehicles) for P3D v4?

Featured Replies

I'm a sucker for historic aircraft, especially maneuverable biplanes, so I really want a biplane or two.

And a cool bush plane, that can get off the ground quick and stop quickly is something on my list.

What about commercial airliners with a fully modeled passenger cabin? I just bought the FSLabs A320 and would like something cheaper and a little less hardcore (for a quick, relaxing A-to-B flight), that would give me a window view, and give me some views of the passenger cabin. I'm sort of interested in something by Captain Sim.

What about weird aircraft, like VTOLs, experimental aircraft and ultralights? What about vehicles that aren't aircraft at all?

PMDG B748 is a kind of an historic A/C:-)

Suggest PMDG 737, 747 or 777.

A2A piper cub should be out soon. That is definitely worth buying.

Anything A2A is worth buying!

If you want something a little less hardcore I'm guessing you mean less of a "Study" type airplane and more of a get in and go.  I think the QualityWings 757 is good for that type of mission.

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

For historic aircraft I recommend the A2A Connie and the Aerosoft DC-8.

For Bush planes, the Milviz DHC-3 Turbo Otter.

For passenger cabins, Carenado is probably best. They have a large variation of visually excellent airplanes that are not too hard to fly. I particularly like their Saab S340.

Have you tried that in roomscale VR? It's mindboggling. Walking from the flightdeck back to the cabin. Made it clear to me that I never want to fly on the real thing.

I'm too tall, I feel like a boxed sardine.

Interesting, that makes me even more wanting to try VR 🙂

I haven't been on a S340 in real life, but on a Dash 8-200, which is of comparable size. Yes, it is a small commuter airplane, but on the other hand you usually do not spend more than an hour in the air. It didn't bother me too much, but I am only 1.80 m tall.

Just do it, if you’ve got the hardware to run it. Rift S is a beautiful thing in P3D, and other flightsims as well. Stayed up til 5am last night VR simming, it’s that fun.

Planes for OP (that he can also use in VR when he gets an HMD): A2A bonanza/comanche/cherokee, Alabeo Mooney m20r ovation.

The Mooney is good, but tbh no one can compete with A2A when is comes to P3D GA.

P.S. for the record, my “PMDG” comment above was a joke...but you should still buy the NGX. 😊
