P3Dv4 Recommended Twin Otter?

The real-world Otters have a flap-trim interconnect that keeps the airplane close to trimmed when flaps are added...

And like I said, it seems to do the job. But perhaps you've flown a real one, in which case I will defer.

Listen guys, just get the extant AS Twotter, take advantage of the mods available for it, in part thanks to Bert, and then just wait for the new one.

Yes it isn't perfect, and it's texturing is showing its age... but the upside is very good fps performance , which over Orbx stuff at the moment, can only be a bonus.

And, there are quite a few versions in the package, and it's quite cheap

I'm chomping at the bit for a new all-improved version, but don't hold out for one, if you don't already have it. It's well worth buying for 30 odd bucks.

The AS Twotter is a delight- well worth the price of admission. If she gets better- fantastic, but you needn’t worry today- she’s a keeper. Not perfect- but endearing.

I re-installed last night, and indeed it is splendid.  Much regard for Bert- where are his mods?

What mods...😉

Sorry Bert- I thought I read you had issued some mods for this a/c... apologies for the confusion!  I was hoping you had delved into the taxi characteristics- that's the only real serious shortcoming at the moment.

As far as the alternate FDE mod at AS, I understand it is only applicable for P3D v1... if not I am willing to give it a go...

Always good to hear from you!

Yeah, taxiing has always been a problem for FSX and P3D.

We are all grateful to Bert for getting the GTN etc., sorted and it will keep us going until Aerosoft know what they're going to do.

BTW. There are also, many great liveries out there for all the different models too.

Just picked up the Aerosoft Twotter…  Liking what I see se far!

Now looking at getting the F1 GTN for it....

Is it a simple install to get the panels integrated into the VC?

No, I don't think you can do this at all. You will need to use it in its own 2D window.

Oh okay, it seems some people have made this sort of work. Not sure how, isn't it a touch-screen device? 😩

With Berts mod the AS is more than adequate.

What are those mods?  Link anywhere?  Thanks.

Slow down... there is some misinformation on this forum regarding GTN integration, and it has my name attached to it..

As far as I know, you CANNOT install a GTN 750 into the Twotter panel.

(unless you want to squeeze it into a GNS 530 frame..)  😉

Bert

Right...you can put it into the existing gns530 frame.  You can also create a 2d popup.  But there is no gauge bezel for it

Much more than any GPS integration, I am interested in the alternate FDE on the AS site (or any others)... any experience with that?

Ok, couldn’t resist so I backed up the Twotter and installed the FDE... off to fly and report. If the engine parameters go from ok to correct this aircraft will go from good to great- will report back!

EDIT- In P3D v4.5 I get pretty severe pitch oscillations when moving props so it's back to the default FDE.  FWIW.

Yes it squeezes into the GNS 530 frame.... using your mod Bert. It works just fine.... don't panic.

Sorry if I misled anyone.

It 'pops up' just fine and works great.

Doesn't look perfect as the knobs look wrong in the VC.

But it works just great. Don't undersell yourself.

As far as I know, if you PM Bert, he MAY send you an alternate FDE which I use.

BUT yes, you have to request it.... I think.... from Bert.

(Apologies Bert, if I spoke out of turn!)
