Is there any system in the world that can truly handle P3D?

Recommended Posts

I just did a new build. 9900K, RTX 2080ti, 32gb ddr3200 etc etc.

It is a nice improvement over my 6700k build but still falls way short of being able to handle P3D and all of the add ons. Flew EDDF - EHAM yesterday. I have mega airport 2.0 EDDF and Fly Tampa EHAM. Plus orbx TE NL. everything was great until the arrival. blurries and ultimately a CTD about 25 miles from EHAM. what a shame.

You'll have to work on reducing your settings..

Orbx TE NL + payware EHAM sounds like the ultimate stress test.

The moment you start seeing blurries, you may as well pause and reduce settings.. You are overloading your system.. simple as that.

What I always suggest is go to a large payware airport and use a payware aircraft with bad weather, then adjust your settings to maintain 30 FPS minimum. Then while you are flying around you will be around 60, then when you get to your destination you know your system should be back to the 30 FPS minimum. No more blurries or crashing.

That was good advice 🙂

Setting the system up so it maintains 30 fps in the most heavy Environment is the way to go.

Set the monitor to 30 hertz and use Unlimited + Vsync .

For extra cpu power on the ground you might purchase FFTF Dynamic.

Yes, and you might consider to purchase this one too -  a CPU monster for real

but not this one:

If the CTDs continue, check your OC. I have a similar setup to yours and my G.Skill 3200C14 32GB on XMP keeps causing CTDs with the FSLabs.

Thats even without any CPU or other OC. Dialling the XMP down to 3000 seems to improve stability (still testing).

It appears we are pushing the boundaries of current architecture...

My front view pc has a 7940X ( 14 cores ) running at 4.7 Ghz. Lots of L3 cache.

My left view pc has a 8700K ( 6 cores ) running at 5.0 Ghz.

That should be enough, but also I have to make compromises..

Extremely Nice Gerard. Which Addons do you use for Sky Textures and Sky Clouds? Regards Marcus

No, but it doesn't stop us trying to add everything anyway...

Sky textures : RSDesign ( payware )

Clouds : ASCA ( 512 for a softer look which also gives higher fps )

Yes there is a system capable of handling anything you can imagine inside of P3D, ask Rob Ainscough about it.. he might build one for you, if you really, really want it :)

So you've boarded a real Cockpit of a real plane like a corsair for just making this short video  ?  The poor pilots must have driven nuts .... .
