My Dream Has Come True!

Hi everyone! I finally built a new PC with the specs below and I am absolutely blown away by the P3D V4 performance. I am finally getting great performance and amazing visual from a flight simulator, my dream has come true 🙂 I am sitting at KSFO from FlightBeam with all settings pretty much set to the max and I am getting 60FPS inside the VC. I have ENVTEX also set to 4K res. I am still in shock, in a good way 🙂

Flightbeam pays a huge part for that smoothness also. I dont know how they got SFO to run so great in the bay area

Joyeux Noël Clément!  🙂
Yes, P3D is amazing when running on a solid rig.
Enjoy!!

Thank you so much everyone for the positive feedback. I've been simming for 15+ years and it feels good to be at a good point.

Quick question, should I lock my frames using the internal P3D limiter? I mean if i can be steady at 40fps, I am happy. Thoughts on locking frames on a system like mine?

Most users lock their fps and use FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.10 to get back lost fps.

If you arrive at an airport and have no AG, then change the number to default 0.33.

BTW: What board did you get?

Just leave your system as is.  Just enjoy it and please sim & congrats

Bad advice.

Just because you have a great system, it doesn't mean you shouldn't consider locking your frames in P3D. Running P3D v4 with unlimited fps has been the culprit of many issues including stutters, blurries, and even CTDs.

On my system, I get blurries on locked frame and ultra smooth on unlimited (with no blurries or ctds).  It all depends on the system.  If the op is getting the fps he wants and is happy; why change anything - just enjoy it.

As the old saying goes.....if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Got it! Let's wait till he's experiencing some issues before giving him advice. He asked a question and we gave him some answers. 😁

It runs fine unlocked, however, my GPU is really working and the load is anywhere from 99% to 75% and the fan is getting a tiny bit loud. Also, unlimited my FPS jump anywhere from 40 to 65. That's why 🙂
