This may be a stupid idea but we've lost a number of folks who were real contributors to our global mutual hobby. Some I can think of...Bill "Cowboy" Wilson -(falcon 3 guru)Richard Harvey - Fly! development guruRey Lopez - 3rd party/development repainterEd Knapp - Repainter extraordinaireWould it be cool to have a little side web page with a tribute/memorial listing of our fallen friends with a link to their works? These folks for the most part were HUGE contributors to our mutual hobby. I for one, think this could be uplifting and mightly respectful to those who deserve it.Eric

We will never forget you Ed. Thank you for helping me to learn to paint, and thank you for everything you've ever done for the community. May your soul rest in a better place.Sean

He will always be remembered in the FS community everytime someone flies one of his wonderful repaints.

Couldn't agree more Eric. A set aside for the pioneers in this community along with honor for those who have "left a mark" on all of us could only be a positive.

I did not know Ed personally, but I certainly know his work. To his family and those who did know him, please accept my sincere condolences.Blue Skies for eternity,Chuck

Hello All, Well it seems, as we all get older, the day our friends mourn our passing gets closer -- the more friends we have to say goodbye to.I didn't know Ed very well, however we did exchange a few e mails on the subject of a video I did on the Citation X, and my telling him how much I enjoyed the Eaglesoft aircraft and his talents. He was so gracious to tell me how much he enjoyed the video and, at the same time, I too praised his work that had given me many smiles since he began sharing his great talent with all of us.Trust me, his talent for painting and graphics far exceeded my amature atempts at creating a FS video, but he made a point of telling me how very much he enjoyed what I had done . . . I was almost embarrased. I feel Ed was probably that way in everything he attempted . . . honest, gracious and humble. I'll miss his work, and FS has lost one of its finest. My prayers for his friends and family -- I'm sure he's already reached a flight level the Citation can't goClayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. "honest, gracious and humble. I'll miss his work, and FS has lost one of its finest."Well said! A true gentleman. Many hours on the phone and he always displayed those traits....

Sad news indeed. He'll be sorely missed, no doubt in that.On the good side (if there is a good side); we all have to go sometime and Ed achieved what we would all wish for.. we slipped away in our sleep. Good man Ed;) Here's to ya. See you eventually, and hopefully the same way.Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/temp/avsim.gifConcorde Training Captainwww.bavirtual.co.uk

Ed's work was of the calibre that when you saw it, you downloaded it, whether you had the plane or not. Several of my purchases, namely the CS 727, F-104 and 707, were made solely because Mr. Knapp released repaints for it.To a community that stretches from one end of the world to the other, with hundreds of thousands of members, Ed Knapp made his mark, and left his impression... and what an impression it was. He will be sorely missed, but his legacy will live on in the virtual skies. May he rest in peace, and may his family be comforted by the fact that he touched so many lives in a positive way.

Be well Ed on your next journey. Your work was awesome. My condolences to you and your family Sir. Gods blessings.William Ortis
