March 7, 20206 yr Hi all, has anyone else with the Flight1 GTN series has issues with their Garmin units after updating to the latest Trainer? I believe version 2.6.0? I’ve been having crashes, issues with the display when in map mode, and a couple of other things. Yes I am in contact with F1 in their forums but I just wanted to know if anyone else out there has run into issues after updating to the latest trainer. Thanks
March 7, 20206 yr What version of the GTN Complete is showing in add and remove programs. If your up to date you could try uninstalling and run the F1 install tool as admin, delete history and run new download. bob
March 7, 20206 yr Author im running version 2.13 of the GTN Complete. I have tried everything under the sun. I have uninstalled and reinstalled at least 10 times with the same results.
March 7, 20206 yr The latest Flight1 GTN complete is a POS. I've been there and done that. Go to RXP and enjoy the flight. http://reality-xp.com/ . Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. Klaatu barada nickto.
March 7, 20206 yr Author I have the RXP version as well. But the lag is so annoying I can’t stand it. Maybe I’m just picky but whenever I zoom in and out on the F1 version it’s as smooth as glass. With the RXP version it’s like 30fps or less. Idk what the deal is or why it’s like that.
March 8, 20206 yr I recently updated my F1 GTN and the Garmin Trainer and had zero problems, both in performing the update and in use of the GTN. The process I used is here. Ryzen 5800X clocked to 4.7 Ghz (SMT off), 32 GB ram, Samsung 1 x 1 TB NVMe 970, 2 x 1 TB SSD 850 Pro raided, Asus Tuf 3080Ti P3D 4.5.14, Orbx Global, Vector and more, lotsa planes too. Catch my vids on Oz Sim Pilot, catch my screen pics @ Screenshots and Prepar3D
March 8, 20206 yr Rogen, Thanks mate. I too have recently updated, but, I opted for Reality XP. I had initial teething problems and had some problems loading the GTN into some aircraft. However, it was a very much better and more satisfactory process than what I got with the Flight 1 product installation. Other than getting a fix for the Carenado DA62 I had it all sorted out and was loving it. Spoiler alert here. I suffered yet another of my inexhaustible and regular (daily) power failures which took out, or corrupted, my Windows 10 Config. I was therefore unable to get back into Windows which in turn, resulted in a reformat of my NVMe drive, and a full re-installation of Windows 10. I then had a delay with P3D because I uninstalled Windows or P3D incorrectly (Thank you Indonesia) So P3D was reinstalled on a reformatted stand alone SSD. After getting my P3D validation back, I then started to re-download and reinstall all my ORBX products (approximately 150 GB) which was interrupted 3 times with power failures. I have yet to complete that process and I have no idea if any of those ORBX downloads have been corrupted either. Following that ordeal, I shall start to re-install all my aircraft and THEN my Reality XP GTN. In reality, (pun unintended) I am anticipating another couple of days before, the smile, (Yea, I am flying), Windows, P3D and RXP are up and working properly again. I have yet to sort out the DA-62 GTN install, but I am working with Bert Pieke and Jfrex (Jorge) and I am anticipating a resolution in the short trm. So, that is my update and I will keep all informed, probably via the RXP forum which currently has my thread running. Finally, I would really like to thank each and every one who has responded and tried to help me with the Flight 1 Product. I wish to iterate as well, that I did not have a real problem or gripe with the product. It was, in the end, the almost total lack of support, that I found to be frustrating, and in the end, simply very, very annoying. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked). RAM 32gb Corsair Vengeance (2x16) 3200mhz. 1 x Gigabyte Aorus GTX1080ti Extreme and a 1200watt PSU. 1 x 1tb SSD 3 x 240BG SSD and 4 x 2TB HDD OS Win 10 Pro 64bit. Simulators ... FS2004/P3Dv4.5/Xplane.DCS/Aeroflyfs2...MSFS to come for sure.
March 8, 20206 yr Author I have come to my own personal (emphasis on that word) conclusion that both units from Flight1, and RXP suck. Both of them. But they both also have what the other one lacks. If one unit is fine in one area, the other one is a complete garbage dump. And vise versa. I will admit with my experience on both units, the RXP support is better and more personalized. With F1, they just tell you it’s your fault and to have a nice day. Plus you have to climb Mt Everest just to get to the correct forum to even get support with F1. The idea of a study level Garmin system is great, but the two we have available to us makes you want to pull your hair out trying to work through all the bugs that they bring to the sim.
March 8, 20206 yr Not quite sure what to say... but I have been using the RXP unit for quite a while without any problems.. maybe I am just lucky.. Bert

The only other suggestion I have is to change the core settings in the F1 Config Tool, change it from the default value of auto to all, I find with a 4 core with HT processor the ‘All’ setting is better. bob

Let's put this in practice then: On 3/7/2020 at 8:29 PM, Deltaair1212 said: If one unit is fine in one area, the other one is a complete garbage dump. And vise versa. Would you mind sending me a PM about what you find lacking? Also, please don't forget to follow up on the discussion you've started for which we're waiting for your feedback, especially the one since December, we don't know whether you've tried our recommendations.
March 12, 20206 yr Author Hello all, working with F1 on my map issue, they sent over a patch that fixed the problem. The issue stemmed from my wind settings within the simulator. Anytime I had winds over 10kts, my map on the GTN units would shake. The patch will be integrated into the next major update is what I was told.

Hello, I have recently uninstalled the RXP GTN because I was working out issues that have now been resolved with F1. Though I will note that with the RXP GTN, I did try using all cores, several single cores, and a few other things and still no luck.
March 12, 20206 yr @Deltaair1212 I understand. However you didn't follow up about this since Dec. 29: Nor the question I've asked you yesterday: We're willing to help and better our products but without your feedback... Please feel free to further the discussion on these topic in the aforementioned threads. Edited March 12, 20206 yr by RXP
