Boating with nVidia WaveWorks is awesome!

Featured Replies

New to-do list :

- take the boat and hit the ORBX harbours in the PNW.  Expecially CAC8 - Nanaimo.  Sail south to Victoria. Or head east over to CAM9 and watch airliners land at CYVR.  the ORBX Seaplane base at CAM9 (next to CYVR) is just stunning....

- "  " load up DrD Chicago X city and sail around Lake Michigan, set to 'dusk' and gaze at the Chicago skyline.

- "  "  DrD Miami City X, sail down the Fla coast then out to Freeport ;

- "  " LVFR San Juan, and Xpress Sim tropics scenery - lots of great detailed harbors in the Caribbean - head over to St Thomas - Charlotte Amalie Harbor - then around to St John.  Maybe an overnight sailing to St Martin.

Please add your ideas !  this is going to be awesome.

cheers,

Load Bora Bora and watch out for the corals. 😀

Interesting stuff.  I actually had World ship simulator by Vstep simulation but it was word not allowed, full of bugs, and horrible physics. They have a full on "Level D" professional simulation for corporations and are now talking about converting a part of it as a home simulation. Hoping they use this Wave works technology and develop some high fidelity models.  This is just a good little side trips for bumming around the p3d world from a different perspective.

ok this is something you could use the P3D v5 for as "new" for me - as a ship simulator - with real weather and traffic - why not, maybe I will buy V5 after all, looks pretty cool, with ORBX Harbours !   Harbour communication ?
perfect !!

Not only Aua, is it fun..but even deeper than that...there are two forms of Zen emotion calming...music...and visual images.  Well...take your yacht out of the slip, or away from your dock,...set up your weather,... perhaps a calm but slight windy day,...pour yourself a beer, or glass of wine...for as you can see, the yacht has a complete and full bar for your guests...and with this baby...you'll have lots of er...'friends'...all of a sudden, and then take a cruise along some beautiful PNW or Alaska coastlines. You'd be amazed at the details that are in Orbx regions...autogen, that you will never see from altitude...(the skin detail on them...) and as you meander by...you really do appreciate more, what has gone into each and every Orbx release. If you really want to bring your shoulders down by your hips...buy A2A's Accu-Feel, or if you have it...bring it over to v5.  When you are sitting on the Flying Bridge, you will hear the waves interacting with your hull..and it is such a cool program...and I have discovered this, by running Accu-Feel within P3D v5...is that as you travel though the swells...you will SEE your bow drop slightly as you slip into a trough, and you will hear perfectly, action synchronized water/hull sounds to totally wrap the marine immersion around you.  Without Accu-Feel, you truly are getting only the visual cues...  Have fun...for I actually take the yacht out of (did with P3D v4.5 and FSX: SE), out quite a bit.  Especially when I come home, after a stressful day at work.  There is nothing like slipping away from the dock...(you're in fact slipping away from problems and worries for a time) and hearing the gurgle of the water as your hull splits it to join back up behind you.  I boat in real life...and it is a true Blood Pressure Relief Valve that takes you places... 🙂  Enjoy.

I've done that all...and it's amazing..let alone actually gets your blood pressure and stress levels down as though you really were at the command of a multi-million dollar vessel....!  Keep to your plan, Captain!

I look at it...as leveraging the full use and features of P3D v5. 🙂

Jeez...you know what...that is great idea...and why wouldn't it work?  The boat is seen as a 'plane'...so would it be picked up on another's screen?!?   That was putting your Thinking Cap on!  We could all hang out at Putin' Bay, in Lake Erie.....by Sandusky...lol.  That is a real-world drink/anchor Fest... What a hoot that would be on-line...everybody is seen coming to Putin'...anchor...get on Zoom...pop a brew...and have a party!  LOLOLOLOLOL!  😉

I am ABSOLUTELY in if this would work in multiplayer.

Jose, there are really nice Carib and Tahiti Scenery packages...and freeware.  I have taken 'my' yacht to many a nice scenery package...like Freeport...Nassau.....I've even sailed upon the Nile!  One of the best 'use your imagination' uses is to take the yacht or any steerable boat...and tool around your own lake, where you have a cottage..or where you have rented or vacationed.  My sister and bro-in-law have a really nice place (lakeside) and I have gone a few times...and toured their lake, just by Salmon Island, in Stony Lake.  They have a beautiful A-Frame on a cliff, overlooking the island...and what a hoot to come up to their dock system, in either the boat...or the Kodiak...and oh...there are two doctors on the lake, two doors down from them, that one has a Cessna with pontoons, and the other a Beaver.  I have gone up a few times with the owner of the Beaver...and what a POWERFUL climber that sucker is...but I digress...lol.

He had a good idea...a really good one!  If a sim object can be tagged to be picked up by the simconnect system...why WOULD it not be a boat...for what if you had the Quest Kodiak?   What a hoot, to see other's boats...for there are many other freeware and payware,  OTHER than this yacht I like to power around on...makes me feel like the Big Cheese of Chrysler or G.M.....lol.   Yep...yeah...yep...

BTW, do we become exclusive P3D v5 Snobs...and form our own P3D v5 Boating Association?  We would need a Charter...and perhaps we can enter into negotiations with Orbx about custom renting one of those great recreation harbors they have released as Freeware...and oh...unless you can show your P3D v5 buy-in membership card...sorry...like wearing a tux to dinner, P3D v4.5, 3, 2, 1's...will have to boat somewhere else...you know...have to protect the 'brand'...LOLOLOLOL  Ok, I need/want another beer...'cause it's Saturday night...and I'm a Covid-19 shut in...and feeling very sorry for myself....

The other place is FlyTampa St. Marteen. I know that's one of your favorite.

Got the boat installed and set the location out on water, how do I control it? Seems like throttle isnt working and the boat is floating above the water.
