April 25, 20206 yr Just a quick question, since we are talking about mesh -- does anybody know what resolution the default mesh is? I use Toposim and am curious. I did a search but couldn't find anything. Thx! April 25, 20206 yr P3Dv5 uses different datas than before of many airports, altitude and positions, the problem is that they didnt update mesh for this datas. April 25, 20206 yr Fresh install of V5 here. At KFLL, I do not see the ‘craters’. However, the airport sits on a plateau, BUT the roadways surrounding are such a mess. There are highways that follow the wavy hillside and just look ridiculous. Florida has neither.. the tallest hills are the highway overpasses Bert

I don't know the exact resolution of the default mesh, but Toposim is a higher resolution based on my comparison with Toposim enabled and disabled in V5. V5 having sloped runways and the elevation issues at FLL are from that new extension of the airport and runway that ARE elevated and go overtop of the freeway. It's not a very clean rendition of it but it's also a tiny issue. If you really want it to look correct, then use the new LVFR version. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
April 25, 20206 yr Author I installed my Latin VFR version of KFLL today...it became available for v5. Now...all is perfect at this Florida airport. The payware version has corrected all the anomalies. Stan

The "source" is the word of the simmer who reports it. If it exists, it exists! No one is unnecessarily "playing". The playing occurs after seeing the anomaly. Stan

For more just Google it. If doesn't happen to you it does not imply that is a false statement. Some of you just like to fight and throw mud if is not what you believe. You should ask yourself why somebody will come here and ask for help? Because is looking to spread false statements? Help people if you can, please. Not assumptions or accusations. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
April 25, 20206 yr There's nothing wrong with asking for help, but I find it far more common that in doing so users tend to blame or sling mud at the sim when it's them who have it setup incorrectly. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024

The problem is that people go way over the top with their criticism of the sim as a whole in response to minor problems.. We know the P3D v5 has new mesh. Whilst that's a very good thing, it's also inevitable that there will be problems, as anyone who has used payware mesh will know. If it's a major issue that you discover, notify LM so that they can add it to their list of things to fix. The major anomalies will be fixed over time, as has been the case with previous simulations.
