Compare this to me earlier Dusk screenshot Nice but still the weak point with legacy shaders is that the ambient lux levels around dusk is way too low. May 11, 20206 yr The sunlight reflection in your first screenshot looks strange, Gerard. The light ripples look dark, not light. It is work in progress Christopher. The first 2 screenhots had other sun textures and I am still mixing several suns into one good looking version. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

May 11, 20206 yr To be perfectly honest, with the "legacy" sky/clouds rendering enabled it still just looks like plain old FSX/P3D. 😕 Granted you've improved it there, but it still demonstrates to me just how much of a leap modern rendering methods a la TrueSky really are.

You are totally correct. But True Sky has to be improved a lot : clouds that look unsharp, max 2 cloud layers, mini sun, flickering on textures etc etc. So therefore I am trying to mimic a little the True Sky look. What I want is more scattered sunlight at dusk. On my last screenshot it looks nice but normally you would not see the round sun. You would see a wall of light where the sun is That effect I had in V4.5.., So this kind of sun want in the above screenshot... I managed to get something to my liking and finally managed to "open" Envshade..Days are wonderful...But nights....to dark...you had settings somewhere for dark....? For moon bigger? I remember you had posted something somewhere.... Alex

May 12, 20206 yr Hi Gerard! I'm not getting much of a response from the TOGA forums, so I thought I'd ask here 😉 I'm on P3Dv5 HF1 and Envshade 1.3.1.3. Initially, I was quite pleased - but on closer inspection, it turns out that it's totally killed my cloud shadows - and terrain lighting looks pretty dull. No amount of tweaking in Envshade brings them back to life. Here's a fairly untweaked vew (in legacy non-EA mode): .. and here's what Envshade gives me (yes, I've reloaded shaders etc.): Do they work for you? Adam.
May 12, 20206 yr Author Hi Adam, Yes, they work but you need the Cloud Shadows slider completely to the right. Personally I preferred them a little darker than EnvShades darkest setting. I am looking into the Shaders and some parts have changed. Hopefully Tomato Shade will be updated. EnvShade is 2 presets + several sliders for finetuning. A different approach than PTA /TS. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
