Vitriol (pure to the boot !) ? Please... Will's answer was a light sarcasm. Appropriate or not, I will not share my thought except to say we all have a different sense of humour (Germans, Dutch, Italians, Americans, Brits, Canadians, French, Danes, Balts etc.),  let us keep a little margin for tolerance.

I certainly didn't mean to come across as rude and apologise if dfanucci feels that I was.

Dominique is right - we all come from the four ends of the the world. Customs, language and syntax is all subtly different. What is said in one way to one person is interpreted quite differently by another. Let us be nice to each other.

btw; When did we find out it wasn't going to have 2020 in the title?

Oh, about 15 months ago... 😉

As already pointed out by Brandon in this thread the number 2020 is not part of the official name.

Avsimmers decided to add the 2020, as they were confused that the official name of Microsoft Flight Simulator, or MSFS will, in the Avsim forums, will be confused with FSX, P3D & FS2004 or FS9.Some are also calling it FS20, named after a well known Farm Simulator.....

Oh Boy.

Don't know why we have this thread. If you came here you have been following development already.

It has been noted many times in many places it SHOULD be releasing this year.

Kind of a dead topic nowadays!

I feel so sorry for the original poster.

You really didn't deserve the treatment you got for bringing this information up, although I'm not sure that particular website is that trustworthy.  I apologize to you.

If I were a moderator here, a certain individual would have been kicked off the forum. I seriously hope a moderator has ticked him off.

Oh Gawd - thanks n4, - I can be so behind the times on things.

Do we have any idea at all, what it WILL be called...?

I think you should just move along actually. Treating contributors in such a disrespectful way isnt aceptable. I'm stunned a mod hasnt dealt with you.

What we have to appreciate here is that release dates are not definitive. Estimates for release dates are just target dates. They are frequently missed.  Thus, the OP posting any evidence form the official website that the release date for the new sim  WILL be achieved is a valuable contribution to the forum and useful information.  So for anybody to butt in, criticise that individual, or respond with sarcasm is unwarranted and immature.

Asobo/MS always made it clear that they HOPED, and that it was the AIM, their INTENTION, to release in 2020.  Great news if the official website is now stating it definitively.

You call some banter direspectful ? It stuns you and you call for banning the offender ? Are you serious  ?

Why don’t you read this post pinned at the top of the forum.

Yes Dominique, I am most definitely serious. I was a moderator on the Just Flight forum  many years ive had plenty of PM's from those upset by so called "banter" more accurately unwarranted sarcasm.  I regard what you call "banter" as unacceptable. And it seems to me that the "banter" upset the OP. The degree of sarcasm I witnessed was beyond banter in my opinion. It was unnecessary sarcasm and not really playful. It's worth remembering that what you regard as "banter" can be perceived differently by others and be upsetting. "It was just banter" is a defence often used for what is in essence not particularly pleasant at all.

You are of course free to form your own opinion.

Good lord,

What a bunch of uptight folks some people are.

No wonder the availability of new sims went straight into the trash over the last couple years...

Quite clear that the impact these comments had was negative. And this was a new member with only 13 posts. Great way to make a new member feel welcome.

Perhaps it’s a good job you’re not a moderator here then.

Although it didn’t suit my own sense of ‘banter’, it was relatively impersonal, and your villain has publicly apologized and offered cultural difference as an explanation. I certainly didn’t detect any malice in the posts. You might want to check your own reading in ascribing any.
